Accredited Awards
Lantra VRQ Level 3 Volunteer Management 2013
TIDE’s vision is to:
“Support community
and voluntary groups to
develop and grow
through high quality,
accessible and
affordable training”
The Lantra Level 3 Award in Volunteer Management is a nationally recognised
professional qualification. It has been designed for those whose work involves the
management, supervision or leadership of volunteers.
What does the Lantra L3 Award involve?
The award is made up of six units; to gain the qualification, candidates must
complete a single case-study, covering the six units:
Unit 1 Plan Volunteers Work
Unit 2 Organise Volunteers and Resources
Unit 3 Communicate Effectively to Brief Volunteers
Unit 4 Monitor Volunteers Work
Unit 5 Give Feedback to Volunteers
Unit 6 Support Volunteers to solve problems
TIDE will support candidates through mentoring, one-to-one and group sessions
and will provide candidates with up-to-date resources.
What are the benefits of achieving the qualification?
Candidates develop skills which will help them to manage volunteers more
effectively. They will do this by researching and writing up a portfolio of evidence
which relates to their role and to their own organisation. The Lantra qualification:
 Develops awareness about the Volunteer Manager’s own role in the
organisation
 Facilitates analysis, reflection and improvement
 Contributes to your continuing professional development (CPD)
 Improves volunteer retention
 Enhances your progression and career prospects
Who can apply to study for the qualification?
Anyone who manages or supervises volunteers in a voluntary or paid capacity.
Priority will be given to candidates from voluntary and community sector groups
and from statutory sector partners in Ealing and Hounslow.
What is the cost?
Due to funding received from the Big Fund we are able to offer this course for £45.
This includes all mentoring, training, resources and certification, usually £150.
