WHAT: Boys Town offers many events free of charge to families this holiday season. Family Christmas Festival Dec. 7, 2014, 3 p.m.-6 p.m., Village of Boys Town Experience the magic of Christmas and start a wonderful family tradition at the Boys Town Christmas Family Festival! See live reindeer and give your wish list to Santa Claus. Families can also decorate Christmas cookies and make gifts and ornaments. Irish Christmas at Father Flanagan’s House Dec. 7–Dec. 14, 2014, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Father Flanagan House Museum This unique celebration features the homemade tradition of a true Irish Christmas as the historic Father Flanagan House is decorated with displays, Christmas quilts, antique ornaments from the 1920s to 40s and antique toys from the 1920s. Historic Crèche Displays Dec. 1, 2014–Jan. 11, 2015, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Village of Boys Town In honor of the holiday season, Boys Town will display three Nativity scenes through January 11. The main crèche adorns the historic Music Hall on Flanagan Boulevard. The Music Hall is near the main West Dodge Road entrance, and the display can be seen from miles around. The Nativity scene was created by late Doina Temple, a Holocaust survivor and former Boys Town employee. Other Nativities are located at Dowd Memorial Catholic Chapel on Dowd Drive and on Heroes Boulevard, in front of the Village Christmas tree across from the Skip Palrang Field House. Chanukah Parade Dec. 17, 2014, 4 p.m.-5 p.m., Enjoy presentations on the history of Chanukah, lighting of the Menorah, dancing, and the sharing of traditional Chanukah treats. Following the events, cars will be fitted with large Menorahs and the Chanukah parade will begin. The parade will travel through the village and then head off through the city. It is open to the public and everyone is invited. Christmas Religious Services Dec. 24 and Dec. 25, Dowd Chapel and Chambers Chapel Visitors are welcome to join Boys Town children and families at special holiday services in our Boys Town Protestant and Catholic chapels. Dowd Chapel: Masses on Christmas Eve are at 8:00 p.m. and Midnight Mass Christmas Day Masses are at 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. Chambers Chapel: Services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Christmas Day.
