2016 Annual Conference
Call for Papers
While we are looking for creative and innovative topics, we would be
very interested in receiving proposals in the following areas:
* Evidenced based practices
* Health/Wellness
* Outcomes
* PRS for Transition age
* Services for Veterans
* Employment
* Trauma
* Supervision
* Spirituality
* Peer Support
* Advocacy
* Criminal Justice and Mental Health
* Creative Arts
* Self- Care
Conference Submission Types:
□ Workshop-. Individual or group presentations that are interactive in nature and address and inform
the audience of a relevant topic in the field of recovery and psychiatric rehabilitation. Sessions are
90 minutes in length.
□ Institute- Individual or group presentations that are designed to offer significant skill building
opportunities to increase practitioner competencies. Sessions are 3 hours in length.
NEW THIS YEAR
□ PAPRS Ted-like Talks- “Ideas Worth Spreading.” Individual presentations designed to share your
ideas and inspiration in a succinct Ted-Like Talk Style. Meant to be brief, yet powerful, Ted-Like
talks offer the opportunity to share your passion for recovery and psychiatric rehabilitation.
Sessions will be 20 min with time for questions and answers at the end.
PAPSRS will be offering Continuing Education through co-sponsorship with PRA. There are important
standards for credit hours. Therefore, all selected workshops must meet the following criteria:
1. Program Content Description: Workshop must be at least 90 minutes and must:
a. address one of the 7 domains of the CPRP Role Delineation Study OR Professional Ethics
and is consistent with the principles and values of Psychiatric Rehabilitation, person first
language, and multi-cultural principles which are:
 Interpersonal Competencies
 Professional Role Competencies
 Community Integration
 Assessment, Planning, and Outcomes
 Strategies for Facilitating Recovery
 System Competencies
 Supporting Health and Wellness
b. correspond to stated learning objectives; and
c. include an opportunity for interaction between participants and presenters
2. Learning Objectives- Workshop must have written learning objectives that are measurable, learnercentered, and achievable within timeframe of the activity.
3. Instructors/Presenters- Workshop must be presented by at least one qualified instructor/presenter
who meets at least ONE of the following criteria:
a. current CPRP and has successful experience as an instructor/presenter in the human
services field;
b. an individual who holds another license or certification in a mental health profession and a
minimum of 5 years work experience in Psychiatric Rehabilitation; or
c. an individual who has authored publications within the past five years on topics within the
domain(s) being presented.
d. an individual that demonstrates compelling expertise in the subject matter.
