JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Message Midlands Regional Director Department: Message Midlands Hours: Full time Location: Message Midlands Offices Starting: Jan 2016 Grade: L1 - £35,213 plus company car Responsible to: The Message Trust Executive Summary of Role: To spearhead the Higher tour in and around Birmingham in 2017 and with an expected second stage in 2020. Working with church networks and planters to ensure a coherent follow up for as many young people as possible with churches and communities ready to engage and disciple young people. To launch and run legacy events post Higher for young people to build into their lives post the mission. Following the Higher tour, taking responsibility for helping the local church throughout the Midlands to reach the hardest to reach with the gospel of Jesus and developing Message ministries to help serve that aim. Main duties and responsibilities: Higher Birmingham 2017 The Higher Tour offers a unique and exciting opportunity to reach young people in schools across the whole of Birmingham with the gospel. This will be the main focus for this role and will culminate in day missions to 40+ schools across the region and one or a series of huge evangelistic concerts at a key venue in the city in the autumn term of 2017. We then hope to run the tour again in 2020. This is strong strategic catalyst to reach young people and grow the church networks to be ready to respond and disciple. With the support of the National Higher Tour Manager and other staff you will: Identify and implement a strategy of communication and vision casting in order to find a minimum of 50 key partnered churches to the vision for Higher. These key churches will support the vision with funding, prayer and youth work that will help develop the tour and run follow up after. Identify and forge partnerships with churches and ministries across Birmingham. Work on partnering schools with churches for extended follow up. Find 40+ schools to take the tour during the autumn month preceding the events. Identify key venues and work with churches on getting young people from schools to the events Train both youth workers and young people across the region in how to do peer to peer evangelism and also in how to journey through the 3 stage AAA resources to ensure as many young people as possible keep journeying with the Gospel and grow in their faith. Legacy from Higher Existing churches focused on reaching and keeping young people. New church expressions inspired and launched to help disciple young people from the tour Young evangelists trained and released in the region and beyond. Regular large scale events to continue to preach the Gospel regularly and get young people passionate about Jesus. Further Message Ministries to aid the legacy of the Higher Tour To work closely with the regional development manager to create a clear strategy for launching and recruiting for Eden teams across the region. To work with the creative manager at using a new creative team for the region to soften the ground and prepare the way for Higher, also ensuring this team become a key driver in follow up and preparation for the next mission. Other Expectations The attendance at prayer days in Message HQ on a monthly basis. Regular line management meetings with the Executive at Message HQ. Increase the support base of Message across the regions, both in prayer supporters and financial supporters Network with other mission ministries in the UK All staff are expected to raise regular financial support for the ministry, aiming to raise one supporter a month and recruiting a minimum of three before they start.
