Ancient Civilization Essay
If I had a choice to live in any ancient civilization I would choose to live in Ancient
Egypt. In ancient Egypt There are so many wonders to see, a well developed way of life, and an interesting religion. To be able to work on and see the amazing pyramids and sculptures would be excellent. These architectural wonders were created though hard work and great craftsmanship, but working on the pyramids only took up one month a year for a peasant in the
Egyptian society. There day to day life is easy and organized. As a woman in society I would tend the house and watch over the children while my husband would tend to a farm most likely or carry out his job as a merchant, doctor, ect. Also a part of their normal life was worshiping the gods and goddesses. They worked hard to please the gods and goddesses so that they would have a successful farming year—the Nile flooding—and a prosperous community. The main god the worshiped was Re or Amon-Re, he was the god of the sun, and another important one is Anubis, the protector of death. Part of their religion was how to send the dead onto the afterlife correctly.
If you were a pharaoh, or a wealthy merchant then you would most likely be mummified, and then buried on the west side of the Nile River; if you were a peasant or artisan then you would most likely be just buried on the west side of the river. These religious beliefs established how the Egyptians lived their daily lives. They worked and made astounding architecture achievements, live easy daily lives monitored by their gods, and they work to please the gods and goddesses as well as carrying proper burials. The Egyptians an exciting society that worked well to prosper for centuries and that is why I would choose to live in ancient Egypt.
