Cobblestone Chronicle Cobblestone Elementary December 2012 Volume 2, Issue 1 School Feature By: Josh Keith The students of Cobblestone Elementary School, in Plumas Lake, were celebrating Red Ribbon Week. On Tuesday, October 23, 2012 the school had a spirit day of “Team Up Against Drugs.” We all got to wear our favorite sports gear to show our spirit. There were football, basketball, baseball, and mostly Giant’s jerseys because they had just won the World Series. Some people were even wearing more than one piece of team gear. We showed our spirit to say no to drugs and it was a great day! Tips for Staying Healthy: Cobblestone Elementary Jog-a-Thon Sch ool Features By: Katie Fleming ondary Story Headline All the students at Cobblestone Elementary had a Joga-Thon. Each class ran for 20 minutes. The children ran on October 23, 2012 at Cobblestone Elementary. The average number of laps the students ran was around 6. Connor Evans and Jordan Getz, in Miss Spears’ class, ran the most laps out of 1 the whole school, 10! It was an exciting time! We should all love to exercise. It is a great way to stay healthy and have fun! Eat your fruits and vegetables. Exercise Make sure you get your grains. Find a friend to go outside and enjoy the day. Make sure you get enough rest. THE THREE STOOGES Movie Review By: Cameron Castro and Steven Spessard Do you want to know why you should watch The Three Stooges? Well, I will tell you. It takes place in a church/foster home. A family comes to pick up a child they are adopting. The boy is sad because they do not want to take the other kids with them. Due to the child being so sad, the adults decide to send him back. They instead adopt a child named Teddy. As the three young boys get older, the foster mother tells them to go fix the bell. The three silly boys go up there and one decides to bring a chain “These cupcake recipes can make any event a phenomenal occasion.” saw. You can only imagine the danger this brings. This whole movie is filled with funny scenes and shares the story of these three mindless boys who are extremely funny. You will love this movie! “What’s New Cupcake” is a spectacular book. It tells a lot about cupcakes. You don’t need a special talent to make these awesome cupcakes. All you need is a handful of candy, frosting, cupcake batter, and a good kitchen. We recommend this book because we learned a lot of techniques that even the worst baker can use to make fabulous cupcakes. You can make these cupcakes for any occasion, even just for fun. These cupcakes can also make an event a phenomenal occasion. AFTER Movie Night By: Viviana Sanchez Another movie night was a success! In the movie “Katy Perry Part of Me,” Katy goes on tour. The tour is extremely colorful and so are the outfits. When Katy Perry is done with her songs she goes backstage to meet some of her loving fans. Thursday, October 25th was “Put a Cap on Drugs,” day at Cobblestone Elementary School. A lot of people showed spirit by wearing their favorite hats. I saw a lot of people wearing their favorite football caps. Most of the people I saw were wearing their favorite Giants hats. It was a lot of fun seeing the spirit of the students. 4
