The Center for Fiction is looking for current students or recent graduates for three Spring Internships. These are unpaid positions but can be taken for school credit. 1) Front Desk/Reference/Cataloging - Interns can gain experience in original and copy cataloging of materials into the OPAC, circulation, reader's advisory, reference, as well as general experience working in a non-profit. This internship requires a commitment of two fourhour shifts per week and one flexible two-hour shift. 2) 19th Century Preservation Assessment - Interns will perform an initial preservation assessment of our 19th century collection. Experience with rare books or knowledge of 19th century literature is preferred and interns must bring their own laptops. Be prepared to get a little dirty! 3) General Archival Intern - Intern will catalog and organize old records of the Mercantile Library as well as update cataloging of our circulating and non-circulating Shattuck and Proust collection. All interns will receive a free year's membership to the library and access to our writer's studio.
