“Intimissimi on ice OPERAPOP”, the only show of its kind, will begin from 9:00 pm at the Arena di
Verona on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September 2014, featuring the top world figure skating stars.
Milan XYZ – The battle between darkness and light, solitude and love, the coldness of ice and the fire of feelings and emotions gives rise to Intimissimi on ice OPERAPOP, the only show of its kind, a spectacular evolution of one of the most impressive Ice Gala, Opera on Ice invented by Giulia Mancini. The new edition will combine world level figure skating stars, opera music, pop music, fashion and special effects worthy of major live shows in a totally new way.
A show unlike any that has ever been produced before and which, in the unique setting of one of the meccas of opera, the Arena di Verona, will debut in Italy on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September 2014, from 9:00 pm.
Some of the greatest international show business professionals together with the brightest figure skating talents at world level, led by Marco Balich’s visionary creativity and with the expert direction of Francisco
Negrin: first and foremost the grace and elegance of the heroine of the show, the international star
Carolina Kostner, accompanied by Stephane Lambiel, Anna Cappellini & Luca Lanotte, Qing Pang & Jian
Tong, Fiona Zaldua & Dmitry Sukhanov, Robin Szolkowy & Myriam Leuenberger who together with a superlative cast of other ice skating champions will glide on their skates to create a fascinating battle in which human emotions and passions will prevail.
Such an exciting show, dominated by figure skating and dance, could not but include the “phenomenon” of the Hot Shivers, the senior female synchronised skating team who have been Italian champions in their discipline without interruption since the 1993/1994 season.
The public at the Arena di Verona will therefore be moved by the interpretation and the professionalism of great champions, who will act out a dichotomic battle that arises from the cold and ice which, with the great energy of love, in the end will melt.
Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September, at 9:00 pm, the most upbeat, sensual, romantic, daring, spicy, harmonious, hot and glacial work ever seen before will be staged.
When the audience enters the Arena, the ice rink will be empty. Then a lake and a waterfall take shape and the atmosphere will change drastically, becoming cold, windy and wintry. The arena will turn to ice, then into an iceberg, lit up by the fiery tails of meteorites with flaming dances and finally will give way to flashes of light, creating multicoloured flares and diamond-like reverberations in the Arena.

Advance tickets for “Intimissimi on ice OPERAPOP” can be purchased on the Ticketone and Geticket circuits as well as at branches of Unicredit and on the www.operapoponice.com/intimissimi website.
The prices of tickets range from 38 euro for unnumbered seats in the stands up to 140 euro for seats in the front stalls .

The creative machine set in motion for Intimissimi on ice OPERAPOP comprises the top entertainment professionals in the world. They are: Francisco Negrin, multi-award-winning director in the Opera world; the Costume Designer Ali Madhavi, the well-known artist and photographer who for this show has taken inspiration from the sensuality of the Autumn/Winter 2014 collection of the Intimissimi brand; the
Australian choreographer Nathan Clarke who, working for the first time on an Italian project, can boast collaboration with top international stars; John Metcalfe, a composer who during the course of his career has worked with Blur, Coldplay, George Michael, Paul McCartney, Peter Gabriel, Tom Jones etc; Giò Forma, the production design company which for this production has invented the great magic whereby the ice rink turns into a universe of projections design by the multi-award-winning London-born Kate Dawkins; with the light and shade of Light Designer Bruno Poet.
