Toms River Fire Company #1 Halloween Parade Challenge 1. Design Specification The boat was designed to resemble the famous River Lady in Toms River which indicates and represents our hometown’ s romantic and peaceful water scenes. The walls and the waves on the side will be built with hardboards and the second floor with wood studs and panels, covered with solid maroon fabric. The white plastic fences shown will be attached to the fabric. There will be two sets of paddle wheels made of thin birch wood panels and MDF panels sprayed with maroon color, attached to the body of the float with 2”x3” wood studs painted in black in the back. There will be windows on the walls displaying fishing poles from within, hanging light-up(LED) sea animals that will create the night ocean scene over the waves representing Toms Rivers beloved activities such as fishing and crabbing. There will be a six-foot Ferris wheel on the top of the float, glowing with LED lights alongside with LED balloons around it creating festive atmosphere, which represents the Sea Side Heights, an exciting and amusing spot in Toms River for fun family/friends times. The float will be built on a 6’x12’ trailer which will allow six to eight persons on the float in the front and both sides. There will be seven spots available to showcase signs such as Jay and Linda Grunin Foundation and WOBM; One in the front, two on the each side of the float(as shown in the image above), two on the sides of the second floor, one on the Ferris wheel and one in the back. The float will be pulled by a black truck throughout the parade. The approximate height is 12 feet. The trailer’s max load is 2,670 lbs and approximate weight excluding float riders is expected to be around 600lb. *Information required is underlined and highlightened 2. Project manage and team a.
