Home Depot’s retail banner sales have fallen significantly since 2007 as a result of the continued weakness in the US housing market. However, in 2010, the retailer achieved the first positive sales growth since 2006. Also, Lowe’s reported 2010 comparable store sales increased 1.3% – being the first such increase since 2005. Home Depot, Lowe’s and Kingfisher saw their net profits decline from 2007 to 2008. However, Home Depot and Kingfisher are on the rebound since 2008, while Lowe’s net profit has not recovered yet.
