Dear Parents,
What an eventful term we have had! I can honestly say that I
have never been more proud of the children and staff in any
school that I have worked. The OFSTED grading of ‘GOOD’ was
a great achievement and puts the school in a great position to
move forward and improve.
As you can see with the news here we have continued to work
hard. The children have had some great opportunities to take
part in music and sporting events. We have had trips to
various places which have enhanced the children’s learning.
These have included visits to Hampton Court and the RAF
museum at Hendon.
Thank you to all our families that have supported us through
the term it was wonderful to see so many people at the
Christmas Fair. Next term there will be more opportunities for
you to get involved. Look out for news of Ocean Maths and
One World Night.
WTPS Choir Sings at Westfield Shopping Centre
Willow Tree Warblers, the Year 5 and 6 School Choir
have been busy performing recently. They sang in the
annual Westfields Schools Carol Competition on
Wednesday 4th December. They performed with
confidence and energy. Thank you to parents who came
to support us at the venue.
On the evening of 5th December the Choir joined with
other local School Choirs to sing at the extremely
popular Northolt High Community Carol Concert. As
usual it was packed with families who had come to hear
the singers. Some of the children also dressed up to play
parts in the Acting of the Nativity. Everyone enjoyed
visiting the 'live' stable outside afterwards, stroking and
looking at a wide range of animals, including goats,
sheep, a donkey, geese, rats and guinea pigs.
We are now preparing for our whole school Carol
Concert on Friday 20th.
Thank you also to our parent volunteers . They do a great job
supporting our children with extra opportunities to read. If
you can give any time we would love to see you. Please
contact Ms J Bottomly for details. It would be wonderful if
some of our dads or granddads could give some time!
Together we are working to make sure that all our children
make the very best progress!

sufficient interest we can consider entering a team/s in

Netball
The Year 6 Netball team completed their Netball league
on Thursday 14th November at Ellen Wilkinson School in
Acton. The team finished in 8th position. They have put in
a great effort in the past 2 months, with some of the girls
learning the correct rules and positions of Hi-5 netball for
the first time. 8th place was a good achievement for the
girls and they should be proud of themselves for how
they worked effectively as a team and how they started
to develop tactics to improve their performance.

Have you heard about Mathletics from your child?
Mathletics is a new, fun website that pupils can use at
home.
Children have the opportunity to practise their mental
maths, learn their tables and practise learning from
school. All pupils from year 1 upwards should have their
passwords. If you have any problems, speak to the class
teacher or myself.
Miss Davis (Maths Coordinator)
On Wednesday 20th November year 2 took part in a 1920s
day so that they could experience what life was like at this
time.
This linked with the book they had been studying in Literacy,
'Snow White in New York.' The children came dressed in
traditional 1920s clothing and looked amazing.
Throughout the day the children took part in a variety of
activities such as 1920s dancing, costume designing and
1920s art.
We learnt how to do the Charleston and watched a
professional performance too. We listened to jazz music and
learnt a little bit of history about the period and how things
were different back then.

Seasons Greetings from Ms Sue Stanley
We are very sad to be losing one of our teachers this week. I
know that you will join with me in wishing Ms Moren much
luck as she furthers her career, going to teach in a special
school. Ms Davies will be taking Cedar 4 from January.
I hope that all our families have a restful and peaceful
Christmas and a very happy New Year. I look forward to seeing
everyone back on 7th January.
