Estudios de Posgrado (másteres propios):
Master propio y oficial: LLM taught course (12 months program).
We require a good second class degree, preferably a 2:1 or higher (notable bajo, or 7 over 10 in Spain,
but this figure may be flexible). We welcome applications from students without a law degree. For
students with degrees outside of the UK, please contact pglaw@le.ac.uk for further information.
Students educated outside the UK in countries where English is not the first language must provide
evidence that they have sufficient command of both spoken and written English. See the
University's English language skills webpage to find out if you meet the requirements. Please note that
we cannot always accept medium of instruction in English as sufficient proof due to UK Border Agency
requirements.
Acceptable evidence includes:
• GCSE/O-level English Language at grade B or above
• An overall score of 7.0 in the British Council IELTS test
• A score of 600 (260 computer score) in TOEFL, with a score of 4.0 in the Test of Written
English (TWE)
• A score of 100 in the TOEFL internet based test
You will be required to submit originals or certified copies of any certificates and score reports.
The English Language Teaching Unit at the University of Leicester runs a series of English language
programmes for international students before the LLM courses start. They are designed to improve
your English in preparation for undertaking a degree in the UK.

Full-time (campus based) up to 4 years of research (minimum registration 2 years)
Distance Learning or part-time, up to 7 years of research (minimum registration 4 years)
Distance Learning or part-time researchers are expected to spend 10–15 hours study time per
week (some researchers use holiday periods for this)
For the award of a PhD, you must compete an 80,000 word thesis, your work must show evidence of
originality and material worthy of publication.
