Scheduled annually for the first Saturday in October, in conjunction with National Energy Awareness Month, the
ASES National Solar tour is the world’s largest grassroots solar event.
The event offers participants the opportunity to tour homes and buildings to see how their neighbors are using solar energy, energy efficiency, and other sustainable technologies reduce their monthly utility bills and help tackle climate change.
Please join us for the kickoff of our local, self-guided Indy Eastside Tour at Englewood Christian Church at 1pm.
The Indy Eastside solar tour will include homes, a church, and a business utilizing solar PV. The sites will be available for public tours from 1pm to 5pm unless otherwise noted. This local tour is coordinated by the Indiana

This InREA program is the logical next step for those who attend the Indy East Solar Tour on Sat., Oct. 4 th or the Westfield Solar Open House on Sun., Oct. 5 th to determine whether you can “GO SOLAR”. This program will help participants to understand the specific solar site requirements for a successful solar installation.
Alex Jarvis is certified by the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) as a solar site assessor. See https://www.midwestrenew.org/node/3053 . Alexis has agreed to be the lead instructor for this program. Additional InREA member solar installers will also be on-hand.
See http://www.solarpathfinder.com/ and http://www.solmetric.com/
After the classroom presentation which will include looking at homes and buildings on Google Maps, participants will go into the field——to demonstrate how the solar site assessment works. Participants will break into small groups to see first-hand how a preliminary solar site analysis is done.
Participants are asked to pre-register for this event and indicate the address of the site—home or business—where they are thinking about installing solar PV or solar thermal. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/solar-site-assessment-for-your-home-or-business-tickets-13492884581
