It is our pleasure to announce that the 2016 Association of Language Companies (ALC) Annual Conference
will be held from May 11-14, 2016 at the US Grant Hotel in San Diego, California. The language services
industry is growing at a tremendous rate. As the largest and most prominent trade organization for this
industry in the United States, ALC will deliver unparalleled education and networking opportunities specific
to your industry and your business.
We are seeking speakers and session leaders who can engage, enlighten, and inspire our 200+ attendees.
These will be experts in their fields from a wide variety of backgrounds both in and out of the language
services industry. With attendees of varying levels of expertise, the conference needs introductory as well as
advanced content.
We are developing a conference that delivers even more content than before, and this is your opportunity to
help us by submitting a proposal on any of the topics outlined below.

Types and Lengths of Sessions
We welcome you to engage our attendees in one of the
following session types:
 Lecture/Presentation
o Length: 30 or 60 minutes.
o One or more people present information to an
audience and answer questions during or after.
 Panel discussion
o Length: 60 or 90 minutes.
o A few experts on a topic speak to and with the
audience in a less formal structure.
 Roundtable
o Length: 60 or 90 minutes.
o There is no speaker or audience, just one group that
is encouraged to bring questions or ideas to share
with everyone in an informal discussion on a topic.
o One person moderates this discussion.
 Other
o Length: 30 or 60 minutes.
o Surprise us with something interesting! But please be
specific.

Industry speakers receive the ALC member registration rate.
Speakers from outside the industry receive a complimentary registration for the date of their
presentation. Registration for additional days is available at the ALC member rate. You may also want
to register for receptions and/or dinners at the same time.
Speakers book and pay for their own travel and hotel.
