Within continuing modernization of the enterprises of Rubex Group Holding on September 15,
2014 a new Italian rubber waste recycling line was opened at JSC "Saransk Plant
"Rezinotekhnika".
The obtained equipment is intended for recycling of rubber waste into rubber crumb of various
fractions. Installation of the equipment was performed at the operating manufacturing site, instead
of the outdated and life-expired line.
The purpose of this project is to reduce the cost, connected with waste recycling, to reduce energy
costs and widen the range of applicability of rubber crumb. The payback time of this project will be
less than two years and will allow to minimize the impact of the enterprise on the environment.
As the managing director of JSC “Saransk Plant “Rezinotekhnika” Mikhail Vladimirovich Hrenov
said the application problem in production of rubber waste was and remains very actual for all
Russian enterprises of rubber industry. According to him it also forces the manufacturers to look for
the effective ways to solve important ecological and economic problems. For example, the share of
waste during production of tires and rubber-textile articles is still 6-10 percent about the country,
and during production of moulded rubber goods is even 40 percent (about 8 million tons during
rubber-textile articles production and about 1,2 million tons during tires production)
At JSC “Saransk Plant “Rezinotekhnika” in case of annual output of about 20,5 thousand tons of
rubber products, 1,4 thousand tons of raw materials goes into process losses, that is about 6,4
percent from the total amount used at the enterprise.
The possibilities of the old equipment for second-generation of rubber goods were extremely
limited until now. One of the main disadvantages was environmental pollution, the necessity of
presorting and reduction in size of waste products, small energy and economic efficiency, low
quality of products after processing. Now the enterprise has a perspective direction in rubber waste
recycling, allowing not only to solve the problem of their destruction, but also to receive valuable
raw material and energy resources. The raw component in rubber goods production is up to 60%
of final product prime cost, so waste recycling can significantly reduce product cost with no loss in
quality.
One of the advantages of the new equipment is that now there is an opportunity to receive crumb
not only from rubber waste. Using it, it is possible to reprocess into recycled raw materials and
composite products on the basis of rubber, threads, fabrics and steel wire - for example, hoses,
rubber blankets, conveyer belts. The product received from them will be applied as the component
of rubber mixes, used for production of black liners, moulded products, and the smallest fractions
will be demanded for production of separate hose elements.
Monthly recycling of the new line is up to 200 tons of wastes. It is much bigger than the enterprise
needs, therefore there is an opportunity to help the Republic of Mordovia with utilization of workedout car tires in the amount of up to 2,5 thousand tons in a year.
