The magazine “Mining industry” published an article about Rubex Group holding and its
development prospects.
JSC RubexGroup management company unites two enterprises– JSC “Kurskrezinotekhnika” and
JSC “Saransk Plant “Rezinotekhnika”. In 2013 the company developed long-term development
strategy and investment program till 2020 which will allow to increase considerably production
capacities and to take up firmly the position of the leading Russian producer of rubber goods.
JSC “Kurskrezinotekhnika” production for more than half a century has been providing smooth
operation of conveyor transport in the most severe operation conditions. Being the leader in
conveyer belts production, the enterprise actively implements new technologies, performs
modernization of equipment providing the best production quality and qualified service.
In 2012-2014 more than 136 million rubles were invested in large-scale investment projects on
renovation of basic assets. The new calender line for conveyer belts production specially
manufactured by UTH GmbH (Germany) specialists for JSC “Kurskrezinotekhnika” was brought
into operation. The line represents a unique combination of the best world equipment geared
towards technological specifics of our enterprise. In the Ist quarter of 2014 a new product line of
the Italian company Erhard+Leimer S.R.L was established and started out. (Италия).
Implementation of these projects allowed us to move to a new qualitative level in production of
conveyer belts which meet up-to-date operating requirements. Research and development R&D
centre and central laboratory operating at JSC “Kurskrezinotekhnika with the most modern
equipment develop unique in reference to the quility conveyer belts.
So, in February 2014, the operational testings of innovative heat-resistant conveyor belt with
composite materials Rubex Plasma were successfully completed. Using the innovative insulating
layer made of basalt fiber, the factory specialists achieved the increase in working capacity
resource of the belt twofold (from 3 to 6 months), thus the temperature of transportable material
increased from 200 °C to 300 °C. Besides, the new covering will allow to save the conveyer belt
even at short-term peak temperature up to 700 °C. In the II quarter of 2014 JSC
“Kurskrezinotekhnika” started the serial production of the new belt.
Production assimilation of heat resistant conveyor belt with composite materials Rubex Plasma
marks the beginning of realization of high quality Rubex Group product lines with high operating
characteristics on the Russian and world markets.
Development of steel cord rubber belts and fabric-ply belts with protection from longitudinal
fractures became another large project. At present the actual problem of trunk conveyors
exploitation of the mining enterprises is breakdown of the belts due to the longitudinal fractures that
leads to downtime of conveyor transport and considerable financial costs connected with it.
JSC«Kurskrezinatehnika» together with Coal Control (Germany) offers a solution to this problem
through introducing of protection system allowing to minimize the length of the damaged part into
conveyer belt construction. Using inductive loops, vulcanized into the belts and special sensors to
detect longitudinal fractures, the system will force the conveyor to stop. Being the unique Russian
producer of steel cord rubber belts JSC “Kurskrezinotekhnika” is working on decrease of bulk
weight of such belts. This factor plays an important role in operating characteristics of conveyor
transport. Due to the reduced weight of the belt, loads on the electric motor and the conveyor mill
elements decrease, that allows to reduce electricity costs. JSC “Kurskrezinotekhnika” specialists
developed steel cord rubber belts of improved design providing application of special ropes with a
smaller diameter. Thus bulk weight of the belt decreased by 10% while maintaining all operating
characteristics.
Conveyer belts of this design are made wearproof (rubber mix of carrying side cover: И, Х, W)
mining (Г-1, Г-2, ТСО, V) frost-resistant (M) and heatproof (T-1, T-2, T-3). In the first quarter of
2014 JSC “Kurskrezinotekhnika” started serial production of steel cord rubber belts with reduced
load on the elements of conveyor system for work in average and severe operation conditions.
Today one of the major tasks for our enterprise is to organize highly-qualified and immediate aftersales service and service maintenance of conveyer belts. In March, 2014 Rubex Group and Nilos
GmbH & Co KG (Germany) entered into joint-venture agreement in the territory of Russia.Newly
established legal entity will be represented under “Rubex-Nilos” brand. We are glad to combine the
experience and competences of both companies and are ready to bring the European Service
Standard of conveyor systems on the market. It will enable to propose the complete solution to our
clients – from delivery of high-quality conveyer belts to world class service.
The company will combine long experience of conveyer belts production, understanding of Russian
clients’ needs and high competences of the service maintenance leader. The list of services will
include: splicing and repairing of conveyer belts, maintenance service of conveyors, services for
installation of conveyer belts, maintenance staff training, installation of conveyors treatment
systems, service for rollers and transmission shafts and a host of other things.
In July, 2014, within Rubex-Nilos joint-venture, specialists in belts splicing and service of conveyor
transport will perform a range of training workshops for the staff of JSC “Uralkali-Remont”. They
will be the continuation of successful training of mechanics of JSC “Uralkali” about theory and
practice of splicing and repairing of conveyer belts which was conducted in April, 2014 by
specialists of JSC “Kurskrezinotekhnika”. Training workshops will be held on the customer’ basis
according to the program “Conveyer Belts and Ways of Their Splicing”. «Конвейерные ленты и
способы их стыковки». The purpose of the training is to transfer the best practices and high
competences of the experts of Rubex-Nilos in the field of splicing conveyer belts. Training of the
staff of JSC “Uralkali-Remont” will be conducted according to the European standards of conveyor
systems service. During the training experts of the customer will receive the most actual
information according to the following directions:
- Current methods of splicing, their advantages and disadvantages;
- Basic principles of fabric-backed splicing of conveyer belts by cold vulcanization method.
- Materials for splicing, their storage precautions and transport regulations.
- Technology of splicing conveyer belts by hot vulcanization method;
- Butt splice construction;
- Equipment and incorporated materials.
In 2014 it is planned to hold similar activities at the largest enterprises of mining, coal and
metallurgical industry.
