Canadian Chemists
Have you ever wondered about what it takes to be a chemist (chemical scientists), what type of work they do in the
laboratory or how their discoveries could impact our everyday lives? This assignment will give you the opportunity
to explore these questions and more by researching the biography of a Canadian Chemists of your choice.
This Assignment has two (2) components:
a. Research a Canadian Chemists of your choice by completing a series of guided questions
b. Select the most interesting information about your Chemist and present it in an interesting way
Instruction:
Part A: RESEARCHING Your Canadian Chemist

Select a Canadian Chemist from a list provided below or of your own choice (need to confirm with teacher)

You must use at least three (3) of the four types of resources
 one (1) book
 one (1) encyclopedia
 one (1) internet site [no wikipedia]
 one (1) personal direct interview (via: telephone, in person or email)
[for local chemists working at the university or college]

When answering the questions, you need to:
 only take jot notes
 write your own words
 copy dates and name accurately
 reference your resource immediately

Submit all sheets (eg. rough notes, pictures if conducted a personal interview etc.) with your final product.
Part B. PRESENT the Biography of Your Canadian Chemist

Choose at least three interesting information about your Chemist and present them in a creative way.
For example:
 make a comic strips (either by drawing or using online program www.bitstripsforschools.com)
 make a YouTUBE interview video of your Chemist
