Clinical Teaching Fellow (Miramar, Florida or Dominica, West Indies) Founded in 1978, Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM)’s pre-clinical campus is located in Dominica, West Indies. RUSM offers clinical rotations in more than 40 teaching hospitals across the United States. The administrative offices are located in Miramar, Florida where the Dean and Chancellor and Cabinet are based. RUSM has graduated more than 11,000 physicians during its 35-year history. Graduates are eligible for licensure in all 50 States, Canada and Puerto Rico after the successful completion of the requisite licensing examinations. The mission of RUSM is to prepare highly dedicated students to become effective, successful physicians. Position Overview: This is a one year Academic Fellowship position open to residency graduates in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine and Pediatrics. Fellows will learn to teach lectures, small group activities, clinical teaching activities and simulation scenarios to medical students in all 4 years of school. The position can be based in Miramar, FL; Dominica, West Indies; or a combination of both sites. Fellows who spend time in Dominica will have access to teaching and patient care in an international setting. During the year, Fellows are expected to sit for their Board exams as well as to complete an on-line Certificate in Medical Education through the University of Dundee, Scotland. Fellows will also attend two Ross University Education Summits and at least one other Education conference. Fellows will have the opportunity to learn about and participate in educational and/or clinical research. We currently have four (4) openings. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Teach medical students in lectures, small group activities, simulation lab and other clinical settings - Prepare for and sit for Specialty Board Examination - Complete the Certificate in Medical Education from University of Dundee - Completes other duties as assigned.
