H orticultural Society’s (RHS) flower shows; Chelsea, Hampton Court & Tatton Park.
Following this the RHS, a charity, headhunted me and I became an Assistant Show
Manager for the RHS London flower shows. I was in this role for a year and half and was fortunate to see an increase in visitor numbers to the shows, develop and see to fruition
Wednesday 28 January 2015 some ground-breaking projects and take sole responsibility for managing for the shows
… but it was time for a change. I wanted to help people. I became a Communications
Officer for the Metropolitan Police taking 999/101 calls. During my year at the Met I was awarded a Commendation for my services in the line of duty – which probably gives you an indication of the kind of harrowing situations I’ve dealt with. In all honestly the shifts were exceptionally hard; sometimes working over 65/70 hour weeks, with a 2 hour night bus commute. I missed Journalism. Along came a project role at BBC Children in Need!
I now have the perfect role for me. It’s a combination of all my (diverse!) experience – I tell harrowing stories, produce films and work for a charity. The stories I source are broadcast on BBC 1, 2, 3, 4 as well as Radio 1, 2, 3, 4 along with many other BBC outlets.

Day and the deaths of two Newcastle United fans on flight MH17. During my short time working for the BBC I have interviewed two former prime ministers and the current and wa s winner of the Broadcast Journalism Training Council’s TV News Feature of the Year and runner up at the Royal Television Society’s Yorkshire Centre Awards.
