Grades: *Grades will be updated for the week every Monday morning for those parents and students tracking class progress. *It is YOUR responsibility to check grades regularly to make sure everything is correct. If you notice something that is not right, let me know and I will re-check entries. If you have questions about grades make sure to ask me as soon as you have questions that way things can get worked out as soon as possible! Homework Practice: *Homework: Homework will be given in the form of a packet. Each packet will have sample problems based on the standards learned during class. The homework will not be graded, but will be reviewed during class to ensure understanding of the concepts. It will be highly beneficial to complete the homework for extra practice before an assessment. ** I suggest you work through the packet as we cover the topics through class examples/discussions. Projects: *Projects: There will be one major project per unit. These projects are worth 20% of your overall grade and are based off the topics covered in the unit. Most projects will be completed individually, unless otherwise stated. Classwork/ Participation: *Classwork: Each day of class is worth 5 points. These 5 points are awarded for being prepared for class (bringing materials— pencils, book, notebook, etc.) and actively participating during class activities. You will lose your classwork points for the day for having to go to your locker for supplies, for being tardy, and/or for not actively participating in the day’s activities. *Active participation is expected during all class sessions. This means asking questions, working when given work time, and conducting yourself in an appropriate manner. I will not hunt you down to tell you what we did. *Make up quizzes and tests: You should schedule a time with me to make up your work. All tests and quizzes should be made up no later than one week after the date the original was given. *I will be available each morning from 7:45- 8:15, during lunch, and after school until 3:30. If these times do not work, please see me and we will work something out. Cheating/Plagarism: *Cheating and plagiarism will NOT be accepted! Any homework, project, quiz or test which has been falsely completed will receive a zero and the owner of that paper will receive a 30- minute detention as well as a trip to Mr. Urbanek’s office.
