Skills acquired include: The ability to interpret in face-to-face negotiation; The ability to analyse and synthesise data from written or oral sources (working both in French and in English); The ability to argue a case in both oral and written form (in French and English) Business and Society in France To achieve detailed knowledge of issues and concepts pertaining to the relationship between business and society in contemporary France (as well as an awareness of these issues in Latin America). To equip students with the linguistic resources necessary to discuss complex ideas and concepts in French. Syllabus Case Studies The Business Case Studies are based on sets of integrated materials and adopt a task based approach to the acquisition of a wide range of oral/written language skills. Business and Society in France Classes are conducted in French. A number topics which examine the interconnection between ‘business’ and ‘society’ are studied. These include: France’s technological deficit The primary sector in France French regions and their corresponding business communities French investment in Latin America Sustainable development and economic growth: the French case 17.
