Art Exhibition will run from February 26th through March 25th, 2016. 2. Participants must be enrolled in a Jefferson County School. 3. Participants may either fill out this form or obtain the Bravery and Honor entry form by visiting our website at www.SouthernMuseumofFlight.com and clicking on the contest link. 4. Participants must create individual projects. No group entries allowed. 5. Student must provide their name, teacher’s name, school, county and grade on the backside bottom right corner of the artwork so that it may be identified. 6. The format of the art must include paper size no larger than 30” x 36.” Artwork may be vertical or landscape. Free art format should be 2D. NO 3D items or sculpture of any kind, NO computer generated images including graphic design, and NO photography. 7. The completed entry form and art must be attached (by tape or paperclip) with name, phone number, teacher, grade and school on the back of the artwork as well when submitted to the Southern Museum of Flight (4343 73rd Street North, Birmingham, Alabama 35206.) 8. Entries must be brought to the Museum by February 19th. 9. Entries will be judged on: art quality, theme, creativity, and originality. 10. Limit one entry per student. Students MUST enter artwork created specifically for this contest. 11. Student or teacher may mat, mount or shrink wrap, but matting or mounting is not required. Shrink wrap is only required if artwork contains a messy medium. 12. The three categories of this competition are as follows: K-3rd, 4th - 7th, and 8th - 12th. A total of nine finalists (the top three finalists from each category) will be selected from the entries and will be notified February 26th. The winners will be announced at the reception and will be awarded 1st through 3 rd place for each category (with a total of 9 winners). 13. Winning entries/students will be featured on our website. The artwork will be displayed at the Southern Museum of Flight until March 25th, 2016. The Southern Museum of Flight and any employees, judges, volunteers, or additional sponsors are not responsible for late, stolen, or misdirected entries. All entries may be picked up from the Museum on Saturday, April 2nd or Tuesday, April 5th between 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 14. By submitting this entry, contestant grants the Southern Museum of Flight the unconditional right to use their name, photograph and artwork in connection with any article, publicity, or press releases without further compensation. The prizes must be accepted as awarded and are non-transferable. Sponsors reserve the right to substitute prizes for one of equal or greater value. By entering, entrant agrees to contest rules. All judges’ decisions are final. No employees or immediate family members of the Southern Museum of Flight are eligible to participate in the Bravery and Honor Art Contest. 15.
