Provide Expert Advice Provide expert advice to the General Manager Services and the Chief Executive Officer regarding the implementation and continuance of positive behaviour support throughout all of Senses Australia’s services. 2. Implement Best Practice Positive Behaviour Support Promote the consistent implementation of best practice positive behaviour support strategies in all settings with a range of staff and clients. Establish a collaborative team approach to supporting each person and to continue to collaborate and communicate with individuals, their families and services to ensure coordination and consistency of approaches. Ensure all services are provided in accordance with principles of positive behaviour support. Ensure adherence to the Voluntary Code of Practice for the Elimination of Restrictive Practices. Ensure that policies and procedures are written for activities related to the role and service. Establish a coordinated team approach to promote shared agreement, communication and consistency in implementation. 3. Provide a Client Service Be involved in the writing and review of behaviour support plans and identify key areas for implementation. Work with people with disabilities and their families to develop and ensure proper implementation of Behaviour Support Plans. Establish effective working relationships with clients and families and those significant in their life and work within a client/family centered approach. Support Staff Support the transfer of practical knowledge from behaviour support plans to staff in a range of ways including 1:1 coaching, modeling and training. Support staff at the most effective time and venue, including evenings and weekends. 5. Meetings 5.1 Attend meetings as required by the General Manager Services; and 5.2 Represent Senses Australia to external bodies as required by the General Manager and the Chief Executive Officer. 6. Occupational Health and Safety 6.1 Comply with employee's duties under Section 20 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984 as follows: 6.2 comply with instructions given by your Manager for your own safety and health and that of other persons; 6.3 use protective clothing and equipment as provided by employer and according to instructions; 6.4 not misuse or damage any equipment provided in the interest of safety and health; 6.5 report any hazards to your Manager; 6.6 immediately report accidents / incidents to your Manager; and 6.7 follow documented safe work practices. 7. General 7.1 Perform other duties as directed by the General Manager Services within the limits of your skills and competence; 7.2 Maintain and develop knowledge and skills relevant to the role; 7.3 Work within the Policies and Procedures of Senses Australia; 7.4 Unless otherwise authorised, keep confidential information confidential to Senses Australia whether during employment or after your employment ceases; and 7.5 Dress in a manner which enables the execution of all duties and presents Senses Australia to the community in the best manner; 7.6 Dress in a manner which enables the face to be fully exposed for full facial expression and communication. Page 3 SENSES AUSTRALIA DIRECTORATE: CLIENT SERVICES POSITION TITLE: Clinical Psychologist Page 4 SELECTION CRITERIA ESSENTIAL 1 Possession of a degree in Clinical Psychology; and extensive experience in developing and managing services within the community sector; 2 An in depth knowledge and exper ien ce in im plem ent i ng the service requirements for people with disabilities, particularly those around clients with behaviours that challenge us; 3 Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including a demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation, with clients and their families, and other external parties; 4 Effective time management and problem solving skills; 5 Ability to evaluate and adapt services as required; 6 Understanding of and a commitment to the Disability Service Standards and contemporary service provision; 7 Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Outlook Desirable 1.
