Here he was wounded on the 14th October 1944, thereafter serving as Military Attaché to the UK Ambassador in Vienna from 1945, being demobbed in October 1946. Served on HMS Unbroken – 600 tonne sub. Promoted to Chief Petty Officer in 1942. It is understood that HMS Unbroken was one of the first vessels to relieve Malta. Medals: Distinguished Service Medal.
