Mount Perry State School will receive

This funding will be used to

100% of students achieving at or above NAPLAN National Minimum Standard in 2015 Year 3 Writing, Spelling and
Grammar and Punctuation.
50% of students achieving NAPLAN Upper Two Bands in 2015 Year 3 Writing, Spelling and Grammar and
Punctuation.
Increase the percentage of students at or above NAPLAN National Minimum Standard from 54.5% in 2013 to
100% in 2015 Year 5 Writing; 90.0% in 2013 to 100% in 2015 Year 5 Spelling and Grammar and Punctuation.
Increase the percentage of students achieving NAPLAN Upper Two Bands from 0.0% in 2013 to 50% in 2015 Year
5 Writing; 0.0% in 2013 to 40% in 2015 year 5 Spelling; 0.0% to 35% in 2015 Grammar and Punctuation.
Every student accessing a different year level curriculum (that is, with an individual curriculum plan) will achieve a
'C' standard or better against the relevant year-level achievement standard.




Our strategy will be to

Develop and implement a whole school approach to teaching writing (aligned to and including engagement with the
How to teach writing online coaching module and Seven Steps to Writing).
Pre and post test writing as per school assessment framework –Hattie “Teachers Make a Difference”.
Continue to develop collaborative data inquiry processes (to build teachers' ability to interpret data, identify and
scale-up effective teaching practices and differentiate better).
Identify and review every 5 weeks the learning needs of students currently achieving below NAPLAN National
Minimum Standard.



Our school will improve student outcomes by


Purchase staff (0.4FTE) to work with teachers on and to develop /implement whole school
approach to writing.
Purchase Learning Support Specialist Teacher (0.2FTE) to assist with writing Individual
Learning Guarantees, implementing intervention program and data analysis.
