Special Ed. is a SERVICE not a Place…
The Boardman Local Schools are currently servicing over 750 special education students that reside in our
district. Services are provided for students in all (7) buildings within our district as well as St. Charles.
Boardman has also been awarded the services of a School Psychologist Intern for the fifth straight year
through a fully funded Ohio Dept. of Education and Kent State University grant. This will provide Boardman
students an additional school psychologist to assist with diagnostic testing, identification services, ResponseTo-Intervention services as well as some counseling. Our preschool program, located on Lockwood Blvd.,
continues to grow. Thirty students transitioned from the preschool to our four elementary buildings this
school year.
