Global climate change is a hot topic in the news today. Many scientists disagree about whether or not humans are the cause of global climate change. Whether or not humans are the cause, more money must be spent preparing for what might happen if this trend continues. We need to invest in responding to its effect on wind patterns, clouds, and phase changes. One reason more money must be spent on higher preparing for global warming is higher temperatures cause will cause more wind. This is because the wind cycles are affected by rising air, which is caused by higher temperature. Wind is also caused by changes in pressure, which are made worse by higher temperature. Another reason more money must be spent on preparing for global warming is more temperature means less clouds. This is because when the air is hotter, it can hold more moisture (so the water won’t condense into a cloud). Having less clouds will mean less protection from the sun, which will make global warming even worse. Some experts believe that more temperature will mean more clouds because of more evaporation. However, Amy Clement and Robert Burglund found “Together, the observations and the Hadley Centre model results provide evidence that low-level stratiform clouds, which currently shield the earth from the sun’s radiation, may dissipate in warming climate” which proves that he higher temperatures will mean less clouds, not more clouds. The most important reason more money must be spent on preparing for global warming is global warming will have a big effect on phase changes. This is because higher temperatures cause more ice to melt, which will cause see levels to rise (and coastal towns to be flooded). Also, higher temperatures cause more water to evaporate, which will cause more humidity (which will be uncomfortable for all). Changes in winds, clouds, and phase changes will make life on earth much worse. We can’t worry about if global warming is happening: we must spend more money on preparing for it. The world as we know it, our future comfort, and maybe even our lives depend on it.
