Electrician/Site Technician – Job Profile MH Mar 2012 2011 Role: Qualified Electrician/Technician; Site and Factory Work, Rapidly growing company Salary: Up to £30,000 commensurate with experience. Interviews: Before April 30th2012 Introduction: Hydra-Valve offers advanced valve and pipeline solutions to the Water, Gas, Chemical and Private sector. Using patented tooling valves and pipelines can be released, refurbished, maintained and repaired in situ with little or zero disruption to supply, commonly without the need to excavate. Rapid expansion has seen Hydra-Valve develop its scope of supply, including full M&E works and Asset Survey work. This expansion will continue in the current tough economic climate, due to the innovative solutions we employ, coupled to a motivated and skilled team, providing excellence in everything we do, and total customer satisfaction. The Role: This role is factory and field based and will include UK and international travel, with the need to stay away from home depending upon the projects we deliver. Flexibly to complete a variety of other tasks related to our business is expected. Work would usually be as part of a team of 2/3, and due to the nature of the emergency response and scheduled work we perform the working week is Monday to Friday, although weekend work is occasionally required to meet the needs of our customers. Utility site work usually demands staff with a reasonable level of fitness, with entry into confined space, working at heights and other similar environments. Training will be given if required for essential ‘cards’, e.g. EUSR. Good personal presentation and the ability to communicate verbally and in brief site reports, completed on a computer will be expected. The role is based at Spondon, near Derby, and will suit someone living within commuting distance. Requirements: Main Requirements: o Applicants should be fully qualified Electricians with City & Guilds 17th Edition accreditation and a full driving licence. o Ideal background for this role will be from Manufacturing, Industrial Maintenance and HM Forces. o The roles will involve a daily travel so candidates must be fully prepared to travel on a daily basis. o Experience of site work, including H&S requirements – Water/Sewage industries would be advantageous o Working on Mechanical equipment to support our project work and efficient team dynamics o PAT Test, Factory, Machine wiring, new connection & maintenance o Ability to problem solve, flexible and adaptable, committed and hard working Skills o o o o o o o Recent experience in a similar or junior role Industrial/Site Experience Neat and tidy work Experience with PLCs would be useful, but not essential Ability to communicate verbally & in written form Site survey & specification Component specification and purchase economically Attitude: o Positive outlook with good team working skills o Flexible approach to work and time demands o Good customer facing skills and personal presentation o A ‘Can do’ attitude, with a logical and planned approach to work o Calm and pragmatic when under time pressures General: o Clean Driving License & good driving record o Physically fit o Computer skills would be useful o Be willing to work in confined spaces and also work at height Training will be given (having these skills are of benefit when applying).
