ISHIK UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AND ADMINISTRATIVE SCIENCES WORK REGULATION DIRECTIVE Purpose Article 1 - This directive determines the principles of internship obligation for students of Ishik University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) Scope Article 2 - This directive comprises departmentsincluded in FEAS. If there is a special principle for any department of FEAS, it is arranged by additional directives. Responsibilities Article 3 Individuals and departments are responsible for the steps mentioned in this directive according to the relevant specified areas - Students: To make necessary declarations, to get approvals, to follow the process and to obey all rules included in this direction. - Faculty Secretariat: Regulation of the documents as specified in the directive, monitoring the necessary approvals, providing the necessary coordination and to ensure prosecuting the process according to the rules determined in this directive. - Career Planning Center: To fulfill the responsibilities specified in this directive. - Academic Advisors: To fulfill the responsibilities specified in this directive. Internship Time and Periods ARTICLE 4 - To qualify for a bachelor's degree students are required to be successful in their internships. The number of internship done, duration, and time are determined by the Academic Advisor in accordance with the curriculum of the department. ARTICLE 5 - Internships can be done during the summer. ARTICLE 6 – Internship is done minimum 20 working days and maximum 30 working days in the summers of 2nd year and 3th year. Place of Internship ARTICLE 8 –Thecorporation forinternshipcan be chosen from the country or abroad. ARTICLE 9 - Career Planning Center can offer corporation for internship or the student may find it himself. Student has to take approval of Academic Advisor in order to implement internship in the corporation that he finds. Accepted workplaces for internship must have at least one staff related with department. The obligation and responsibility of finding appropriate internship corporations belongs to entirely to the student. ARTICLE 10 – The place of internship can be changed by the approval of Academic Advisor not later than the tenth day of internship period. Academic Advisor Tasks ARTICLE 11 - The duties of the Academic Advisor are as follows: a) To assess applications for internship, give the necessary approvals and to take necessary measures for execution of internship’s purposes b) To evaluate internships and to provide Head of Department and Dean’s Officea list of students that completes successfully the obligation of internship c) To support Career Planning Center about academic issues (internship positions, internships, content, etc.) d) To do other duties related to internship those are assigned by Head of Department and Dean’s Office. Responsibilities of Student before Internship Article 12 – Students have to deliver to Academic Advisor “Internship Approval Form”approved by the supervisor of the corporation,which can be supplied from FEAS or departments and have to get approval from Academic Advisor. Article 13 –Students who begins internship can get “Internship Report Format” and “Internship Evaluation Form” from Faculty or Departments. Responsibilities of Student during Internship ARTICLE 14 - The student takes note of the internship work on a daily basis, write these daily notes in “InternshipReport” on the principles set by the Academic Advisor and makes supervisor to sign it. ARTICLE 15 - Student must obey the rules, regulations and directions of corporation. Responsibilities of Student after Internship Article 16 – Students make corporation to send “Internship Evaluation Form” directly to Academic Advisor. Article 17 – “Internship Report” should be delivered to Academic Advisor in maximum 30 days by students after the internship is finished. If it is not delivered in this period, that internship isn’t accepted. Monitoring and Assessment ARTICLE 18 – Students’ internship can be controlled by academic staff that is assigned by the management of Faculty. Reports prepared by the auditors are taken into consideration by Academic Advisor at the assessment of internship. If auditors offer rejection of internship totally or partially, the last decision is decided together by Academic Advisor and auditors. Article 19 – Assessment of internship are made by Academic Advisor at “Internship Report” and the result are declared as accepted totally or accepted partially or rejected. If necessary, Academic Advisor may call the student for defensing Executive Article 20 - This directive shall be executed by the Dean of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Article 21- This work regulation directive approved on 08.06.2013 dated Senate meeting and will be implemented by Department.
