LIVE, standing for Leading Innovative Visions to Execution, is a University of Toronto Scarborough student leadership group focused on developing future leaders of tomorrow, by placing students in real-life business scenarios, allowing them to test their business skills and acumen. Individuals in this position must work intensively to innovate and develop a unique curriculum that upholds the reputation of LIVE’s challenging and competitive rounds. Skills Required: Creative and innovative thinking Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills Strong logic and organizational skills Ability to communicate effectively through all mediums Works effectively both individually and in team environments Ability to overcome adversity and remain motivated to achieve set curriculum milestones Integrity to maintain confidentiality of all curriculum materials Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint Responsibilities: Develop competition curriculum framework and create rounds for the competition Research and analyze curriculum content (industry data, business concepts/material, etc.) Perform regular competitive analysis of the curriculums of other leading undergraduate competitions Collaborate with the team in developing innovative & unique curriculum ideas Coordinate with the Delegate Experience Manager in scheduling of the competition curriculum Conduct curriculum test runs with the LIVE Executive Team and Board of Directors and compile their insights to strengthen the curriculum created Oversee the execution of the curriculum on the day of the competition CORPORATE RELATIONS MANAGER (2 Positions): Execution of LIVE 2016 relies heavily on the support from corporate partners. As a result, the Corporate Relations Managers will be responsible for acquiring corporate partners to help expand the LIVE budget in both monetary and nonmonetary respects. As well, the Corporate Relations Managers will have the responsibility of maintaining relationships with all corporate partners and representatives on behalf of the LIVE team before, throughout and after the competition. Skills Required: Persistence Resourcefulness Strong negotiation skills Excellent relationship building & networking skills Excellent time management skills Ability to communicate effectively through all mediums Ability to overcome obstacles and remain motivated Works effectively both individually and in team environments Proficient with MS Word and MS Excel Responsibilities: Set sponsorship goals and develop strategic outreach approaches with Corporate Relations Team Conduct in-depth search for potential sponsors and representatives Work through networks within the University, colleagues, and others to develop and search for contacts Work in collaboration with the Publications Manager in the design and development of sponsorship packages Contact and negotiate sponsorship agreements with potential sponsors Manage relationships with sponsors before, during, and after the competition Secure all competition prizes Create delegate bags and corporate bags EVENTS MANAGER (1 Position): The events and socials hosted by LIVE play an essential role in creating an interactive and fun experience for delegates, as well as fostering the development of stronger bonds for the executive team throughout the year. This year more than ever, the Events Manager role will focus on how to integrate Sponsors and Reps into LIVE Competition, and work with the Delegate Experience Manager to identify ways to also loop these important guests into the delegate experience. Hence, the Events Manager position is one that requires creativity and innovative thinking in developing and organizing competition events and socials. Skills Required: Creative and innovative thinking Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Strong event planning skills Ability to confidently and effectively communicate both verbally and written Works effectively both individually and in team environments Interpersonal Skills Familiar with MS Word and MS Excel Responsibilities: Brainstorms to develop interactive competition socials and events such as Icebreaker Activity, the Awards Gala/Closing Ceremony and Evening Social Event Develops, organizes and manages all competition and internal social events Actively manages relationships with respective external social venue contacts Plans and executes promotional events to propel LIVE’s brand to external students – including leading the LIVE Future Leaders Challenge outreach, planning and execution. DELEGATE EXPERIENCE MANAGER (1 Position): One of the key aspects as to why LIVE Competition is one of the most successful undergraduate competitions is because of the delegate experience. The Delegate Experience Manager strives to strengthen the overall competition experience for the delegates by ringing in respected top tier speakers and mentors. This year more than ever, the Delegate Experience Manager will identify ways to make the delegate experience truly innovative and unique. From the communications with the hotel customer care representative, to the meticulous planning and creation of competition itineraries with cross-functional teams, this individual will play an essential role in the overall logistical organization of the competition. Skills Required: Innovative and a critical thinker Strong initiative Excellent interpersonal skills, strong negotiation and communication skills Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Ability to organize information into detailed schedules and itineraries Ability to communicate effectively through all mediums Works effectively both individually and in team environments Proficient with MS Word and MS Excel Excellent time management Strong negotiation skills Responsibilities: Responsible for researching and securing potential speakers and mentors that are relevant to the curriculum context and/or theme of LIVE Works with the Publications Manager in the design and development of the Speakers and Mentors packages Manages relationships with speakers and mentors before, during, and after the competition Manages the relationship with respective hotel contacts and acts as a liaison Responsible for all hotel logistics; specifically food, rooming and other hotel arrangements Researches and secures venue for Corporate Connections networking evening Collaborates effectively with respective team members in coordinating and developing comprehensive itineraries and schedules Oversees overall logistical scheduling of the competition Manages competition team contact list and schedules MARKETING MANAGER (2 Positions): The success of the LIVE brand is heavily reliant on the designs of all marketing and communications collateral developed by the Marketing Manager. It is critical that the Marketing Managers are able to translate the core values of LIVE into innovative designs that distinguish the LIVE brand through marketing collateral and the form of motion picture. *A portfolio of creative works done would be appreciated but is not mandatory Skills Required: Creative and innovative thinking Excellent time management skills Ability to understand audience and communicate messages through creative marketing Works effectively under stress and time sensitive deadlines Works effectively both individually and in team environments Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design and other graphic design programs Experience with Windows Movie Maker, CyberLink, and/or other video editing software is an asset Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint Responsibilities: Work closely with various team members to develop various marketing packages Design and finalizes all written and printed material for the competition including but not limited to promotional material, competition binders, sponsor, speaker and external delegate packages Coordinate and organize overall promotional efforts through video channels for the competition Establishe and manages relationships with all relevant publishers and printers Create and designs all competition relevant print collateral Provide support for all marketing initiatives wherever necessary Ensure consistency of branding across all LIVE related documents and all external marking collateral Help develop marketing strategy for the upcoming year EXTERNAL RELATIONS MANAGER (1 position): Attracting external delegates from representative universities across Canada is an important aspect of creating national exposure for LIVE. The External Relations Manager has the critical role of developing and executing a marketing program that will raise awareness of LIVE by attracting top students from external universities. Skills required: Creative and innovative thinking Charismatic Exceptional networking skills Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills Persistence Ability to communicate effectively through all mediums Works effectively both individually and in team environments Familiar with MS Word and MS Excel Responsibilities: Develop and manages the external Campus Brand Manager Program Assist in the development of the overall LIVE Competition 2016 marketing strategy and brand Establish contacts with student societies at universities across North America Update and further develops external information databases Establish the external promotional strategy and marketing approaches Work with the Publications Manager to design external promotional materials Communicate all external promotional material to contacts at respective universities Manage all external recruitment activities including management of delegate fees, travel arrangements, etc. Maintain relationship with external delegates before, during, and after the competition Administer delegate feedback surveys INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS MANAGER (1 position): The Information Technology Solutions Manager is a role that requires an individual who possesses a strong initiative and a keen interest in working and learning technology. They utilize proficient knowledge of workflows and effective communication channels to ensure an integration of technology with all aspects of the Competition. Responsibilities include the execution of timely updates and maintenance of the Competition’s internal network. The IT Solutions Manager must envision, integrate and implement new ideas as well as collaborate with other team members. *A portfolio of web design, works on adobe and or coded programs would be appreciated but is not mandatory. Skills Required: Innovative and critical thinker Keen interest in various technologies Proficient knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash) Strong leadership skills and effective communication Working knowledge of HTML, PHP and MS Applications (Excel & Access) Effective time management and strong attention to detail Works effectively both individually and in team environments Responsibilities: To administer the LIVE Competition website Responsible for the development of various IT initiatives within the LIVE team Implement collaboration and communication tools Implementation and execution of audio and visual equipment Provide advice and solutions to better develop LIVE’s curriculum and communication channels Manage ad-hoc projects with other managers within the team to work towards the development of the competition
