Objectives and Homework for May 11 – 15
This week we have our test on Unit 5 Lesson 1 where we will demonstrate that we know our
ordinal numbers, the rooms in the house, the furniture to put into those rooms and ser versus
estar. Since all tests and quizzes are cumulative, be sure to review possessive pronouns, direct
object pronouns, and stem-changing (or “shoe”) verbs. The test will be Tuesday and Wednesday
with make-up work on Thursday.
This week we start our final chapter, Unit 5 Lesson 2. We will need to master more irregular
verbs:
Decir (to say; to tell)
Venir (to come)
These two verbs are a combination of shoe verbs AND an irregular I form (first person singular).
Then we have the following verbs to memorize:
Poner (to put; to place)
Hacer (to do; to make)
Traer (to bring)
Salir (to leave)
Dar (to give)
These 7 verbs must be memorized as we will be using them with commands, such as:
“Leave me alone.”
“Put your books on the table.”
“Give me your money.”
Bring your books home tonight to study.”
All of these sentences will be seen again on quizzes and/or tests and after we learn the verbs and
their conjugations, we will learn how to use them in commands.
Most of the work this week is to study for your test, but be sure to look at what will be graded and
assigned so that you don’t get behind in your work.
