When Conducting Inventory:

 Print out the table below.

 Check to make sure that the item that is listed is in the warehouse..

 Make sure that each item has the number of stocked items listed.

 To do this, physically count the number of each item that is present.

 Write down the number of items actually present, making sure to mark any discrepancies.

 Follow the process below for any counts that are incorrect.

Stocked Products Inventory Table

12 oz. Can of Organic Ground Coffee; 230 cans

1 pd. Bag of Whole Bean Organic Coffee; 27 bags

2 pd. Bag of Decaf Ground Coffee; 56 bags

½ pd. Bag of Columbian Ground Coffee; 124 bags

12 oz. Can of Decaf. Ground Coffee; 237 cans

Reusable Coffee Filter Basket #2 Size; 45 baskets

Reusable Coffee Filter basket #4 Size; 57 baskets

Process for Incorrect Inventory Counts

1.

Count the number of items present and compare to inventory table.

2.

If the count does not match what is on the inventory table, mark how many items are actually present in the column to the right of the “Number of Items” column.

3.

Re-count the number of items, just to be sure that you have not made an error.

4.

Report all discrepancies to a manager.

5.

The manager physically counts the items and signs off on the discrepancies.

6.

The employee goes into the computer system and manually changes the inventory to the correct number of items present.

7.

The manager attempts to determine where “missing” items are.

Who Participates in Inventory?

All employees of Blue Skies Coffee Company are required to participate in inventory. Inventory is completed on the 1 st Saturday of every new quarter.

Employees must have prior approval to be out on this day. Only emergencies will be an excuse for missing inventory.
