Course Objectives:

Student Learning Outcomes:
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to understand, interpret,
apply and communicate the following ideas:

4. Be able to understand the cultural significance of choosing a Chinese name
5. Be able to seek others’ opinions in Chinese

Grammar:
1. Be familiar with the use of ordinary number
2. Be able to use conditional phrase
3. Be able to use antonym words
4. Be able to use adverbs
5. Be able to use conjunction to express two phrases
6. Be able to do sentence transformation with the syntactic order
Vocabulary:
1. Words associated with environment
2. Names of common occupations
3. Words to introduce myself
4. Names of various countries
5. Words about one’s personality

Phrases:

Required textbook:
IQ Chinese 400 Lessons 9-10, IQ Chinese 500 Lessons 1-4
Course Policy:
Students are encouraged to read the assigned textbook chapters thoroughly. Utilized IQ
Chinese 400 CD & 500 CD– listen to the chants and dialog, type words/sentences in “Word”
and “Sentence”. Finish the homework including both written and recording homework.
