Here at OLACA we have been involved in a number of activities to prepare for the arrival Jesus’ birth. Advent is a period of preparation, extending over four Sundays (November 29th, December 6th, December 13th, and December 20th), before Christmas. The word Advent comes from the Latin advenio, "to come to" and refers to the coming of Christ. December 8 This is our celebration of Christ's birth at Christmas; to the coming of Christ in our lives through grace and the Sacrament of Holy Communion; and to His Second Coming at the end of time. Sacrament of Reconciliation ~ 10:00 a.m. Our hallways are adorned with beautiful Christmas displays such as the Advent wreath, Jesse Tree, Nativity scene, and the Christmas tree. The annual Christmas sale has provided our students the opportunity to find gifts for their parents, siblings and other family members. Band Christmas Concert 7:00 p.m. As we close out 2015 together, I want to say thank you for working with us to develop and maintain a strong Home-Academy partnership! We work very hard as an academy to teach children to respect one another by having them learn about how we are both the same and different and that our unique strength is to be found in our wonderful diversity. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Sincerely, Giuseppe F.
