The City of Aurora has increased in population 70% over the past twenty years. Currently the population of the 25 square mile city is 15,500. The school district is comprised of three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. The mission in the Aurora City Schools is to ensure that through providing a nurturing environment, with high expectations and effective programs, all students will reach their full potential and graduate prepared to become responsible, productive members of society. Aurora High School is a fouryear comprehensive college preparatory public school with an enrollment of approximately 1050 students. AHS is accredited is through The Ohio Department of Education.
