Dear Coast Runners and Parents of Coast Runners NORTH, GREETINGS FROM THE COAST RUNNERS!!! As we start gearing up for this awesome adventure we have some information for you. Coast Runners is a tad different than our traditional camp experiences in that we will be living out of a church bus and camping at campgrounds every night. So leave your box fans, cell phone chargers, and extension cords at home because we won’t be needing them! Camp Don Lee will be providing tents for everyone, cooking gear, and campsite necessities for the week, but you are in charge of bringing your personal gear. Each day has been planned out for optimal adventure and fun. You will need some sort of river/ water shoes (Tevas, Chacos, Crocs, Keens, or any other outdoor water shoe would work fine). There will be time to change shoes when we get back to our camp site each night, so you are more than welcome to bring tennis shoes. Also it will be imperative that you come prepared with lots of sunscreen, bug spray, rain gear, and a good attitude! We will be spending at least an hour each day on the bus, so bring what you’ll need to enjoy your air-conditioned and personalized bus tour of the Outer Banks of North Carolina . We are allowing personal music listening devices, but should they become an issue the Don Lee Staff will keep them safe until the trip returns at the end of the week. There will probably not be anywhere to charge cell phones- especially at the beginning of the week, so please consider whether you want to bring your cell phone (if you choose to bring a cell phone, it will be each camper’s own responsibility to keep up with it. The trip will not go back for lost or missing phones! ) We have included a packing list as. Please bring the your HEALTH FORM, COPY OF INSURANCE, personal money, and CONSENT FORMS (details on the packing list) with you to check in at Camp Don Lee on July 24th. MAJOR CHANGE: Check in for Coast Runners North will begin at 10:00am SHARP Sunday Morning, July 24th. We are going to be heading to Ocracoke that afternoon to be able to camp that night. Please make your plans so that you are here at 10:00am Sunday, July 24th. We are eager to get the trip underway!
