On all Dress-Down Days, if you have gym class, you must wear
sneakers, and you may not wear jeans. This month, you can
dress down for $2 on December 3rd & 14th.
Daily, students are only permitted to return to class to get left items
until 3:45 pm. They must be escorted by a staff member.
The School Christmas Fair is Friday, December 4th, in the
gym during the school day. Bring your family! There will be
homemade soup, refreshments, gifts for the whole family, and raffle
baskets such as a membership to the JCC and a spa package from
Relax on Cloud Nine. We need more volunteers to lend their time to
this event.
We also need more donations of baked goods. Please see “Holiday
Fair Dec 15 Letter to School Parents” under “Printable Forms”.
Live Nativity - Come join us at 7 pm on December 11th for a
wonderful evening as our children retell the birth of Christ. Visit the
events page on our website. There will be live animals, a choir,
refreshments and more. The rain date is December 18th.
Friday, December 11th is Picture Day for 8th grade Cap & Gown,
Sports Pictures, Individual Retakes and Kinderdance. Students on
Basketball Teams can wear their basketball uniforms to school under
their school sweats.
All picture retakes: you must send in the packet of pictures you
received. Keep the class picture at home. Please make sure that your
child is dressed in his/her school uniform if a retake is needed.
Thursday, December 17th, at 7 pm is the School Christmas Concert.
It will be in the gym. Students in grades 2 – 8 will be participating.
Please check your engrade messages from Mr. Sax for details.
Parents may not enter the gym until 6:45 pm.

Wednesday, December 23rd, the Kindergarten & 1st grade classes will
lead Chapel as they perform the Christmas Story. All are welcome.
It will start promptly at 9 am.
There is No School for Christmas and New Year’s from Thursday,
December 24th – Friday, January 1st. Classes resume on January 4th.
The Basketball Teams love when fans come out to support them!
However, all kids must be chaperoned by an adult.
Fundraisers
All funds raised from Box Tops and Campbell’s Labels go toward
new gym equipment. This quarter, we collected over 2000 box tops,
raising $271.70. All Labels for Education UPCs we collect this
November will be doubled! Please send them in by November 30th.

school.
If you are a Shop Rite customer, please consider registering online
at ShopRiteForMySchool.com. Select St. John’s Lutheran as your
school and get extra Box Top points when you buy certain items.

The December 3rd Dress Down collection will be used for the
Wizard of Art.
The December 14th Dress Down is part of the 8th grade fundraiser.
Stop & Shop Fundraiser A+ School Rewards program - St. John’s
Lutheran School ID #16706, will run from October 9th, 2015 –
March 17th, 2016. Please register your rewards card online at
www.stopandshop.com/aplus to participate. It’s an easy way to
raise money for our school – just shop!
Volunteer Needed: Uniform exchange program- where parents can
buy lightly-used school uniforms for discounted prices. We need a
volunteer to run this program. Please contact the school office if you
are interested.
