"Discover How to Eliminate Gallbladder Pain with Judy's 3 Step Detox Formula" Judy Seeger, ND: Author, Speaker, Researcher, Webinar & Teleclass host, online TV show host I started juicing in 1978. The local health food store owner explained the powerful benefits of juicing and how it could help me detox and cleanse my body. This is also the time I was fortunate enough to be trained by world renowned healers like Dr. John Christopher (master herbalist), Dr. Bernard Jensen (world renowned nutritionist) and then Dr. Joel Robbins, MD, DC, ND. There were many more healers I studied with, but each and every one supported the value of juicing for detoxing. The first step in eliminating gallbladder pain is to give the body what it needs to heal. Juicing is one of the fastest ways to do this. Growing up in New York City with European parents, there were minimal choices for finding quality vegetables. On top of that, I was a picky eater, rarely touching my vegetables. I had a severe sweet tooth and loved white bread, especially peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! By the time I was 18 years old, following this poor dietary lifestyle, I ended up with chronic fatigue, caught colds constantly plus suffered with severe low back pain, constipation, migraine headaches, dizzy spells, chronic sinus infections…the list seemed endless! And I was young. I can't imagine what life would have been like if I continued on this self destructive path. Serious disease would have surely overtaken my body. 4 But detoxing saved me! I started out with juicing and remember the first time I ever tasted a glass of freshly made carrot juice, I couldn’t believe how delicious it tasted! I was shocked at the sweetness, the refreshing taste, and most especially how good I felt! It was better than drinking soda or eating candy. I was hooked! Then I did my first colon cleanse which was another experience! I lost weight, I had more energy then I knew what to do with and best of all my symptoms were slowly but surely disappearing! I knew then I was on the right track so it was time to take this to my clinic. I worked on thousands of people and saw them have the very same results. I worked on rebuilding their body first, then went onto the next step simple to use detox therapies to help them eliminate their poisons. From mercury to chemo to sugar cravings people came to eliminate the poisons that were causing them to feel sick. The very toxins that was causing gallstones to form. After 35 years in the Alternative Medicine field, I've put my findings into books that are easy to read, easy to follow, and most importantly gives fast results. When not writing, teaching or speaking, I love to travel the world eating exotic foods like dragon fruit, and hiking to waterfalls or watching a Muay Thai match. I remain a life-long fan of all activities in water - white water rafting, kayaking, boogie boarding, swimming, snorkeling. I feel great and I had been sick for at least 6 months. I have Celiac so it is imperative that I do all I can to keep my gallbladder. Thank you for making this information available. Thank you very much." - Aleece Briggs 7 Are Your Symptoms Real? “I have been on and off the South Beach Diet and in all have lost a little over 40 pounds. I have been working out 4-5 days a week. Within the last week or so I have been feeling mild uncomfortable pains in my lower right side, with no other symptoms. It is very uncomfortable …” “I just wanted to know about a pain in my side. It's been hurting for two days now. It’s right in my pelvic area. Please help!” “HELP! Gallstone Attack! What can I do? I am having gallstone attacks after eating! What can I do to relieve the pain?” While these people experienced symptoms, most people with gallstones have no symptoms at all. One study found that over 80 percent of patients with gallstones had no symptoms at all. Review the symptoms shown below and consult a health professional if you are experiencing any of them. Gallstones form when liquid stored in the gallbladder hardens into pieces of stone-like material. The liquid, called bile, is used to help the body digest fats. Gallstones can be as small as a grain of sand or as large as a golf ball. The gallbladder can develop just one large stone, hundreds of tiny stones, or almost any combination. If a gallstone is obstructing the gall bladder, there will be severe pain in the upper right side of the abdomen. The pain will come and go in waves due to strong muscular contractions that occur. These muscular contractions occur because the body is trying to get rid of the obstruction caused by the stones. Another symptom of gallstones is mild pain located under the right ribs. This pain usually occurs after eating fatty foods because fat in the diet provokes a reflex contraction of the gall bladder. If there is complete obstruction of the gall bladder, infection of the gall bladder occurs. Symptoms of this include fever and jaundice (yellow skin). 8 The Symptoms Most doctors say you can live without your gallbladder. I agree. You CAN live without your gallbladder…but there’s a BIG price to pay. If you don’t have the gallbladder there to squirt the bile, which organ gets extra duty to break down fats? The liver of course! If the liver is already working extra hard breaking down fats, your chances are much higher of getting: Jaundice Skin rashes Hormonal imbalance Low blood pressure Fatigue Weakness Weight loss Poor appetite Nausea Fever These are just a few liver problems you may get if your gallbladder is removed. Due to the health risks of removing your gallbladder, don’t you want to save your gallbladder? Judy says…. Why risk these problems? Rather than removing your gallbladder, get rid of your gallstones naturally and save your gall bladder! Here’s what to do if you DO have pain, but you want to save your gall bladder. First, check whether you have these symptoms: Symptoms of gallstones are often called a gallstone “attack” because they occur suddenly, especially right after a meal. A typical attack can cause: Steady pain in the upper abdomen or right side that increases rapidly and lasts from 30 minutes to several hours. Pain is sharp, cramping, or dull. Pain in the back between the shoulder blades Pain under the right shoulder Nausea 9 Gallstone attacks often follow fatty meals, such as a meal with meat and potatoes, deep fried foods, and greasy foods. They may occur during the night. Other Gallstone Symptoms Abdominal bloating Recurring intolerance of fatty foods Belching Gas Indigestion, heartburn IMPORTANT NOTE If you have the above symptoms PLUS any of following symptoms, you should see a doctor right away: Sweating Chills Low-grade fever Yellowish color of the skin or whites of the eyes Clay-colored stools 10 8 Tips to Know If You Are Likely to Get Gallstones 1. Women Women are much more inclined to develop gallstones than men. In fact, women between the ages of 30 and 39 have three times greater risk of gallstones than men in the same age group. 2. People over age sixty Age is also a major risk factor for both men and women. As you age, your chance of developing gallstones increase substantially, particularly after you hit age sixty. 3. Native Americans Most Native Americans, especially Pima Indians, have one of the highest incidences of gallstones. This is particularly true in women. 4. Mexican Americans Those who eat their native foods rich in cheese and meats tend to form gall stones more readily. 5. Overweight men and women Obesity (weight greater than 120 percent of ideal body weight) is certainly a major risk factor as well. Even being moderately overweight increases your chance for forming gallstones. 6. Lack of physical activity A recently published study of more than 60,000 women showed that the risk of having a gallbladder attack is directly related to the amount of physical activity done. Women who sat all day at their desk were at a 2.3 times greater risk for needing gallbladder surgery compared to women who worked out daily. Similar findings have also been observed with men. 7. People who fast or lose a lot of weight quickly Yo-yo diets are no-no diets! When weight is lost and gained too rapidly, this puts a tremendous stress on your liver and gallbladder, leading to excessive stones being formed. 11 8. Pregnant women, women on hormone therapy, and women who use birth control pills Sex hormones, especially estrogen, appear to be largely responsible for this, having been shown to promote gallstone formation. Along these lines, women who are on estrogen replacement therapy or oral contraceptives also seem to be at a higher risk for developing gallstones. Pregnancy, or a history of childbirth, is also a risk factor for forming gallstones. One study reported that only 1.3 percent of women who have never given birth had gallstones, compared to a 12.2-percent prevalence of gallstones among women with a history of childbirth. Pregnant women, after they give birth, have been found to have less gallbladder problems within one to two months after delivery. 12 Where In The World Is Your Gallbladder Anyway? Your gallbladder is so small you wouldn’t think it could cause so much trouble! But this little tiny three inch sac is actually a muscular storage sac that can hold about one ounce of your bile. This is the same greenish-yellow bile fluid made by your liver and sometimes you “burp up” leaving you with a sour taste in your mouth. Your gallbladder is simply a storage site for the bile that your liver makes. It’s lined with a special mucus lining, which can absorb salts (minerals). It’s attached to, and located under, the liver. When bile is needed, the gallbladder contracts, forcing the bile into the common bile duct, which carries it to the small intestine to aid in digestion. 13 10 Steps to Follow When You Have a Gallbladder Attack A gallbladder attack doesn't come out of nowhere. There are definitely reasons your gallbladder forms stones and gets inflamed. But don't worry! You have plenty of options that are safe, natural, and can save you thousands of dollars! In fact, I’m going to share my clinical experience with you and give you the 10 steps to follow if you do have a gallbladder attack. These are proven to work and perfectly safe to use! NOTE: remember, IF you are having severe symptoms like I mentioned before, don't monkey around! Go straight to your doctor and get it taken care of. These suggestions are just that - suggestions! Use common sense and don't put yourself in jeopardy. Let's look at 10 Natural Solutions.... Gallbladder Attack Solution Step #1 Let's do a quick review to see if you’re really having a gallbladder attack! Initial symptoms are: Pain in the upper part of your abdomen (underneath your right rib cage) This pain occurs RIGHT AFTER you eat a fatty type meal Remember, check with your doctor if you're in severe pain! Step one is to decide if you are actually having a gallbladder attack or simply bad indigestion. Some folks decide to do a few natural therapies at home first. Others go right to the doctor. It's your call. 14 Gallbladder Attack Solution Step #2 If you go the doctor and it is a gallbladder attack, the physician will immediately hospitalize you and probably remove you gallbladder. The advantage of this is that you will be out of pain! The disadvantage is that there are long term consequences such as: Constant diarrhea. This can be controlled somewhat by medications, but then you have the side effects of taking medications all day. Low energy Weight gain Back pain Heartburn Gas Nausea Cramps Pain in the shoulder or right side of the abdomen You have other choices! There are safe and effective things you can do that are natural that can reduce pain such as: Drinking pure, unfiltered, raw apple juice. In my clinic, I had people drink freshly squeezed apple juice with excellent results! Make sure to use Granny Smith apples (organic if possible) if you’re going to juice them yourself! These apples are low in sugar, high in fiber, and sour. Remember, sour or bitter foods stimulate your liver to keep your gallbladder working better. If you are buying apple juice, do your best to buy 100% pure organic apple juice that is raw (not pasteurized), unfiltered (don’t buy filtered), and has not been made from concentrate. You don't want chemicals or high fructose corn syrup going into your body, especially when your gallbladder is already inflamed. How much apple juice should you drink? I recommend at least a quart of freshly squeezed apple juice a day or more. You should drink approximately 8 ounces of apple juice every couple of hours. 15 Gallbladder Attack Solution Step #3 - Hot Pack Therapy This is an excellent way to reduce pain immediately! Place a hot water bottle or heating pad on the right side of your abdomen for at least 2 hours. In my experience in the clinic, I saw people get fast relief with the hot water bottle. Gallbladder Attack Solution Step #4 - Drink Raw Apple Cider Vinegar This produces more acid in your stomach, which in turn digests your foods better to take the stress off your liver and gallbladder. Mix 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar in 4 ounces of water and sip this every hour until the pain subsides. Gallbladder Attack Solution Step #5 - Rest! Your body goes through a tremendous amount of stress when you have a gallbladder attack. It's very important that you lay down and rest and much as possible. Lay on your stomach to relieve any pressure. Or just put your feet up while putting the hot water bottle on you right side. Take a break for a few hours. Gallbladder Attack Solution Step #6 - Drink Peppermint Tea When you drink peppermint tea after meals, it helps your body digest the foods, soothes inflammation, and has a cooling effect. If you drink one cup after your meals, you'll also have less gas, bloating, or belching, which is always a nice side benefit! You can drink it warm or cool and add a touch of honey for flavor. Gallbladder Attack Solution Step #7 - Drink Lemon Water Lemon is a natural emulsifier. Dishwashing liquids made with lemons are advertised as cutting grease on dirty dishes. Lemons work the same way in your body! It cuts the fats down into useable portions so your liver and gallbladder don't get stressed out with the extra work. Squeeze one fresh lemon in a quart of water and drink it throughout the day. When you eat out, make sure to ask for extra lemons. Add the lemon juice to your water or squeeze some on your food to aid your digestion. 16 Gallbladder Attack Solution Step #8 - Eat Bitter Foods By eating bitter foods, you stimulate bile flow. Eating bitter melon, endives, mustard greens, etc. can immediately bring relief when you have a gallbladder attack. You may also eat 1/2 cup bitter greens such as: Chicory Chard Endive Water cress Dandelion greens Mustard greens Jerusalem artichoke Bitter melon Burdock root Eggplant Kale Dill Cumin Turmeric Aloe vera is also a bitter food. Drink 1/2 cup of aloe vera juice, which you should be able to find at your local health food store. 17 Gallbladder Attack Solution Step #9 - Have a Colonic or Coffee Enema Most of us don't like to think about it, but when your bowels are plugged, they can expand and put pressure on your liver and gallbladder. By doing a colonic or coffee enema to open up your bowels, you can have immediate relief from your gallbladder attack. If you decide to get a colonic, a good place to find a professional colon hydrotherapist is through the International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy: www.i-act.org Gallbladder Attack Solution Step #10- Do a Liver/Gallbladder Flush There are many types of flushes on the market, but in my 35 years of experience in this industry I've learned which ones work and which ones are a complete waste of time. Watching thousands of folks going through the process opened my eyes to the truth of the matter – that drinking just olive oil and lemon juice was NOT for everyone! You can get the details about the best Liver/Gallbladder Flushes here: Shatter Your Gallstones: How to Eliminate Gallstones WITHOUT Painful Surgery The flushes are easy to do when you know how! 18 Understanding the Pain of a Gallbladder Attack Once you are past the “attack" stage, I want to make sure you never have one again! Let's look at a few reasons you have gallbladder attacks: Eating fatty fried foods spikes your cholesterol Eating meat at every meal slows down your blood flow putting more pressure on your heart Skipping on veggies keeps you from having good bowel movements Let's look at how these can cause gallbladder attacks. Fatty foods are extremely difficult to break down in your body if you are already overloaded, stressed, and suffering from bloating issues! You do need fats in your diet, but you need “good fats.” Good fats are natural to your body and easy to break down You can easily switch to good natural fats. Here is a list of foods containing natural fats that are much easier to digest and are good for you – especially for your skin, your hair, your nervous system and your liver: Avocados Raw Nuts Raw Seeds Olives Olive Oil Fish Butter Coconuts Coconut Milk Here are practical details on choosing these natural fats: Avocados – peel them and eat them when the skin is soft Olives – black and green low sodium are best Raw nuts – walnuts, pecans, Brazil, hazelnuts Raw seeds – flaxseeds, pumpkin, sunflower Olive oil – 100% extra virgin, cold pressed Fish – halibut, cod, flounder (avoid salmon – it’s too hard to digest) Coconut milk – without preservatives While these natural fats are better than processed fats (like lard or corn oils or margarine), they are still difficult to break down when your gallbladder is 19 irritated. If you’ve had a recent gallbladder attack, you need to avoid all fats, natural or processed, for 30 days to give your body a rest. Another food you must avoid at all costs if you have had a gallbladder attack is pork (including ham, bacon, sausage, etc.). Pork contains high amounts of the wrong kinds of fats and is one of the hardest meats to digest. Eating pork can also cause a tremendous amount of joint pain due to the uric acid build-up! It is not worth the pain! The problem with eating meat is that most people eat big dinners with red meat, potatoes, and bread—and this is the worst time of day to eat such a hard to digest meal. Lunch is a better time to eat red meats, because it gives your body time to break down the fats. However, if you want to avoid having another gallbladder attack, you really want to cut down on your meat intake in general, and you want to eat meats that are easier to digest. Healthier meats to eat are: Chicken Turkey Fish Let’s talk about fish. Most people are told that eating salmon is good for you because it has omega 3-6-9 which is true. However, in my clinical experience, most people have a hard time breaking down this high fat fish. Eating a less fatty fish such as cod, flounder, halibut, and tilapia are much easier on your liver and less stressful to break down the fats. Simply bake, broil, or steam the fish and add steamed veggies like asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, beets, etc. for a delicious low fat dinner. The reason why eating veggies is so important to keep your gallbladder healthy is because of the cellulose – or high fiber they contain –plus the enzymes, minerals, and vitamins which keep your organs in top-notch working order! 20 When you skip out on veggies, you skip on the health benefits that can keep your gallbladder intact. Here are the best veggies to eat with your chicken, turkey or fish: Asparagus Beans , green & yellow Beets Broccoli Brussels sprouts Carrots Cauliflower Celery Chard, Swiss Collards Garlic Leafy greens – romaine lettuce, purple leaf (no iceberg) Peppers, hot Squash Tomatoes Zucchini The worst veggies to eat are: Cabbage Cucumbers Radishes Garbanzo beans (includes hummus) Leeks Onions Parsley Sweet peppers The reason you should avoid these vegetables is because of the type of fiber they have. Their fiber makes them more difficult to digest and can actually cause you more bloating and indigestion!
