WORKSHOP: CURVY RIGHT ANGLE WEAVE BRACELET
INSTRUCTOR: Warren Feld
PRIMARY TECHNIQUE/S: Bead Weaving; basic right angle weave stitch with simple edge
embellishment; attach button clasp and create clasp loop

SHORT DESCRIPTION:
Learn the basic Right Angle Weave bead weaving stitch and create this bracelet with some
“Curvy” action.
DESCRIPTION:
In bead weaving, we use needle and thread to construct bracelets and necklaces. The Right
Angle Weave stitch is one of the most popular bead weaving stitches. In our “Curvy” bracelet,
we learn the basic stitch. We construct a single row of right angle weave units to the bracelet
length we want. Then we embellish the edges to give the bracelet its “Curvy” action. Last, we
learn how to attach a button clasp and bead-weave a clasp loop.

CLASS/WORKSHOP LENGTH: One Session, 2 ½ hours total
MINIMUM CLASS SIZE: 4 students
MAXIMUM CLASS SIZE: 10 students

Button for clasp (about 5/8”) (1 button)
Size #12 English Beading Needles (2 needles)

PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS:
A handout is given to each student with instructions, diagrams, and images.
OTHER SUPPLIES STUDENTS WILL NEED TO BRING (and NOT in kits):
No other supplies needed
WHAT THINGS STUDENTS WILL COMPLETE DURING CLASS TIME:
Learn right angle weave stitch.
Learn to embellish edges.
Learn to attach button clasp and make accompanying loop.
Finish (or nearly finish) the bracelet.
INSTRUCTOR REQUIREMENTS:
Ideally, students need about 2 ½ - 3 feet of work space.
No equipment is needed.
An eraser board is helpful.
If the students are seated at different tables, a podium or central table for the instructor would
be good.
