This lecture and hands-on course is designed for the true beginner. If you
have never used a computer before and you’re not sure where to start come
and take this course. You will learn computer basics such as computer
types, monitors, CD ROMS, disk drives and fax/modems. This class will
also cover the various uses for a computer.

This exciting hands-on class provides an introduction to the fascinating
world of the Internet. The instructor reviews the basics of using the Internet
such as basic terminology and performing searches on the World Wide
Web. Learn tips and tricks on finding information for work, school, and
home as well as information on Internet privacy, safety and security.

Designed to provide touch-typing competency skills for the non-professional
keyboarding student. Basic alphanumeric keyboarding techniques on the
microcomputer will be taught. This course is geared for those at any level of
computer training who wish to learn touch-keyboarding skills.

experience. Topics include an overview of microcomputer hardware,
software and the use of Microsoft Windows operating system.

software package works. Students will be introduced to the Windows
operating platform, as well as the various programs that comprise the
Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

Microsoft Word 2010 for Windows is intended for students who desire to
understand word processing and document preparation using a Windows
environment. Topics may include creating, editing, formatting and printing
documents. An overview of desktop publishing features may also be
included. Prerequisite: Introduction to Windows or equivalent experience.

Basic concepts and applications of Excel for Windows will be discussed in
this course. Topics to be covered include Excel fundamentals, worksheet
preparation, formula construction, worksheet printing, basic spreadsheet
metaphors and the use of charting as an analytical tool. Prerequisite:
Introduction to Windows or equivalent experience.

Students will learn how to create professional looking presentations using
Microsoft Power Point for Windows. Topics may include terminology,
entering and editing text in slide and outline view, adding graphics to slides,
importing and exporting data from Excel and Word.
