Karen Powell- Instructor Spring 2012 Submitted by: Kimberly Nahinu EDEL 453 - Field Trips: Let Go! 1. Explain which field trip you think you will actually try to use. I really liked the Hoover Dam Field Trip. It costs nothing, and can be done right in the classroom. Hoover Dam is right around the corner, but students have not had the opportunity to visit it. I think this virtual field trip would be lots of fun and very educational. 2. What challenges did you run into during this assignment? I really liked this assignment. I am currently in a vacancy teaching SLD. I have been on ten field trips with my class this year. I find that students learn more, when they actually have the opportunity to experience things for themselves. If anything, this assignment has taught me that there are so many ways to teach our students about History, Geography, Economics, and Citizenship then just with a text.
