YEAR 9 ACADEMIC PARENTS’ EVENING
THURSDAY 26 FEBRUARY 2015 3.30PM-7.30PM
In response to parental request, we are continuing with the format of a face-to-face Parents’
Evening with subject teachers, rather than with your child’s form tutor. We actively
recommend students attend these discussions.
Following on from the successful parents’ evenings last year, we will again be holding five
minute meetings, started and finished by a universal timer. It is essential that these timings
are adhered to by all concerned to ensure that the evening runs smoothly. In addition,
conversations/discussions will need to be focussed on the key issues of progress,
performance and welfare.

Once made, the times will be unavailable for anyone else to book. Each slot is 6 minutes
long; 5 minutes discussion and 1 minute for change over. We appreciate you may wish for
further discussions with staff. Where possible these will be arranged at an alternative time.
Appointments can be booked on-line until 12 noon on Thursday 12 February 2015.
Please find overleaf a guide to support you in this process as well as a staff location map please consider this when making your appointments. Please ask your child who teaches
him/her for core PE as it is not always apparent on the timetable, due to rotation.
It is confirmed that you can use your existing log-in details to book appointments. To
facilitate a quick reply to any enquiries regarding Parents’ Evening or if you have mislaid
your log-in details, please e-mail the Academy Administration Team on
parentsevening@humberstonacademy.co.uk – please do not use the “office@” address
(shown at the foot of this letter) or the link on the Humberston Academy website for any
such queries. Your child will be issued with a copy of the appointment schedule prior to the
Parents’ Evening.
