The data confirms the University has not only improved on its previous result of 94 per cent, but also on that of the national benchmark which also stands at 93 per cent. Professor Margaret House, Vice-Chancellor of Leeds Trinity University, comments: “Leeds Trinity University’s strategy has always been to ensure our graduates are work-ready, meaning our approach to learning and teaching has always had employability at its heart. I’m proud of the fact the University was one of the first in the UK to include a compulsory professional placement within every degree. I believe this, combined with our excellent teaching community and support network, is a pivotal part of the journey to ensure our graduates make the successful transition between studying and launching their career.” The University’s focus on enhancing its students’ career potential means it has developed a business network with over 2,000 businesses across all sectors, regionally and nationally, who offer students placements that are relevant to their degrees. These partnerships ensure that the University embeds into its curricula the skills required for students to secure graduate-level jobs in their field. The University also offers students and graduates of Leeds Trinity University the facility to use a free online Jobshop service. Currently there are 1,500 organisations registered and over 100 graduate jobs being advertised in a range of sectors. The University also offers students the chance to enhance their CVs further by facilitating excellent volunteering opportunities for its students, regionally and nationally, and is an accredited vInspired Awards Validator. High-quality placement opportunities are also created by the University itself. Trinity Vision, the University's in-house media production company, was formed specifically to give students first-hand, practical experience with real clients. To further develop its students’ employability, the University recently launched the Trinity Enterprise Centre – a facility designed to foster students’ entrepreneurial skills and help new business ventures get off the ground. Leeds Trinity University’s performance in the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education survey complement the excellent results the University has recently received in Whatuni’s 2015 Student Choice Awards and The Guardian University Guide 2016. A survey answered by 20,000 students formed Whatuni’s 2015 Student Choice Awards, which saw Leeds Trinity University ranked 28th out of more than 100 institutions, as well as it securing an overall score of four out of five based on student reviews. Leeds Trinity University was also the highest climber of all UK universities in the 2016 Guardian University Guide, rising 27 places above its position last year.
