Senior Network Engineer
CSC is currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support various development Network
initiatives and production environments. The Senior Network Engineer will be working with
numerous cloud offerings including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, along with Network integration,
migration, and network security services. In addition, the Senior Network Engineer will be
expected to interact closely with different development and operational teams.

Senior Network Engineer– Duties and Responsibilities:













Maintain data, voice or video network hardware and systems and provide leadership and
work guidance
Investigate and resolve network and hardware issues; research, analyze, isolate, and resolve
errors
Assess and update older networks as needed and provide technical support on data, voice or
video networks
Answer technical questions; recommend and implement approved course of action
Exhibit technical leadership for data or voice network problem escalation and resolution
Install network applications on network servers or voice equipment and maintain network
facilities for small- to medium-sized networks
Determine appropriate standard testing routines or scripts; then test, research and resolve
problems
Test various voice or data equipment such as routers, switches, hubs, optical equipment,
multi-function switches, end offices, signaling transfer points, private branch exchanges
(PBX), voice mail, and call management systems
Design, implement, and maintain various networks such as LAN, WAN, and voice
Prepare data or voice network diagrams and drawings to document and assist in
communicating operational status of networks
Perform data or voice network configurations and configuration changes of various voice or
data equipment such as routers, switches, intelligent hubs, multi-function switches, end
offices, signaling transfer points, PBX, voice mail, and call management systems
Prepare routine proposal documentation and information to meet customer requirements
Prepare routine cost analyses and vendor comparisons to ensure cost-effective and efficient
operations
Qualifications
Senior Network Engineer– Basic Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Three or more (3+) years of experience in data, voice, or video networks and expert
knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols






Four or more (4+) years of professional experience in IT security and networking
technologies
Experience working with local area network systems, network software and hardware,
technical infrastructure communication issues, network systems, networking principles,
data, voice, or video
Previous work with multiple platforms such as mainframe, two-tiered client-server, or
three-tiered client-server
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication
skills, and ability to handle multiple changing priorities
Working knowledge of virtualization and cloud concepts, LAN/WAN design, IDS/IPS
management, and switching
Brocade Certified Network Engineer (BCNE) or Cisco Certified Network Administrator
(CCNA)
Senior Network Engineer – Preferred/Other Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems, or
related field (preferred)
Senior Network Engineer –Other Qualifications:




Good analytical, interpersonal, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Skilled in time, priority and task management and with managing competing priorities in
a complex environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, convey a strong presence, a
professional image, and deal confidently with technical problems
Willingness to travel and quickly learn new technologies and have an open mind for
design concepts
