JOB OPPORTUNITY
In support of the Irish Government’s jobs strategy and in particular The Department of
Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation 2014 Action Plan for Jobs, IDA has launched an exciting
and innovative new programme entitled ‘Winning Abroad’. This investment programme,
will be run over a full 3 year period commencing in 2014, with an overarching target of
winning new investments and an additional 10,000 jobs for Ireland, from traditional
industries and markets in addition to newer or emerging markets and sectors.
To enable the delivery of these 10,000 additional jobs over the period, IDA has been given
approval by the Irish Government to recruit 35 additional resources globally, on fixed term
contracts for a period of three years.
As part of this recruitment drive, IDA is now seeking to recruit a Marketing Executive, on
a fixed term contract, based in our Irvine office for a three year period.

JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of the role is to win investments from organisations in the targeted New Forms of
Investment sectors, responsibility for generating meetings and site visits to Ireland and their conversion
to job creating investments.
KEY TASKS:
The role, in line with the strategic objectives set out in IDA Ireland’s Winning Abroad initiative,
involves:-

To win Investments for Ireland and its regions;

To identify investment opportunities from clients across the Creative Content, Digital
Analytics, Connected Health, Agtech and Oceantech sectors.

To work with existing clients with potential to invest in Ireland. Maintain existing
relationships and build new relationships with C-level executives, broadening the
dialogue with existing clients across various divisions. Thereby build a strong pipeline
of investments from the territory, converting them to investment approvals while
working in close collaboration with the global team aligned with the Division’s strategy
and targets;

To engage with a broad range of target companies in the territory, build relationships
and influence C-level Executives in companies and identify job creating opportunities
for Ireland. In engagements, the ability to sell client centered solutions focused on
highlighting the fit between the client’s needs and Ireland’s offering;

To demonstrate knowledge of and to fluently articulate Ireland’s value proposition for
the respective sector;
Further activities will include:

To work with the global team to provide timely, accurate and compelling information to
clients relating to prospective investments

To work with the global team to continuously improve divisional marketing materials
(PowerPoints, brochures) to outline Ireland’s value proposition in key areas (e.g.
manufacturing, services, R&D) and ensure these are customized for various territories
and clients

To actively develop and manage high value industry networking opportunities across
the territory in order to secure investments;

To contribute to the organisation and execution of Irish Government/Ministerial visits
and other marketing programmes as appropriate;

To capture and share relevant market place sectoral intelligence with the global team
and US team to ensure the continuous strengthening of the sectoral strategy of
winning new investment opportunities for Ireland;

To operate as part of a cohesive New Forms Investment team;

To ensure dignity, respect and equality are applied in all interactions with people both
internally and externally;

To commit to continuous learning and development of self and to share knowledge
with colleagues through utilisation of the CRM.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work permit for the US, valid for 3 years from start of employment with IDA

Ability to work well under pressure, flexibly and independently on own initiative

Track record of success in career to date, specifically in business development

Capability to build relationships at Senior Executive level in European companies

3rd level business/sector related qualification or relevant business development
experience

Full driving license is essential

Familiarity in one or more of the sectors outlined is desirable but not essential

Capability in the area of social media/digital marketing is desirable
