FLUID THERAPY: USING COMPUTERS TO CUSTOMIZE FLUID THERAPY

Fluid therapy may be simple or complex depending on patient condition and clinician attention to detail,
and computer assisted planning has become a very helpful means to minimize medication errors and
improve your ability to match treatment to patient need. In addition to calculator modules integrated into
practice management software, there are now a large number of online and stand-alone applications for
PC, Mac, and mobile devices that may be easily accessed and used for patient care decisions. In this
presentation I will discuss and demonstrate calculators that are useful for drug dose calculations,
continuous rate infusions, intravenous fluid administration, and additives to fluids. If you have a paper
