Jaclyn Foisy Tufts University 25 Chamberlain Street, Hopkinton, MA 774-278-8361 Jaclyn.Foisy@tufts.edu Education Tufts University Medford, MA. Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering. Expected graduation: May 2016 Current GPA: 3.58, Dean's List 6/6 Semesters. Research Experience The Kaplan Lab, Medford, MA. September 2015 – May 2016 Investigating the effects of Ift88 knockdown on primary cilia and cyst formation in a mouse model of PKD. Developmental and Regenerative Engineering Lab, Medford, MA. September 2013 – May 2015 Identified behavioral differences between the inflammatory responses of embryonic and adult tendon cells. Designed a mechanical bioreactor to apply static load to embryonic tendons and engineered constructs. Created a program to objectively measure the optical strain applied to a tendon by a mechanical bioreactor. Work Experience Shire Pharmaceuticals, Lexington, MA Bioanalytical and Biomarker Development Intern, May 2015 – August 2015 Developed a method to reduce antibody interference in quantitative PK immunoassays to enhance accuracy of drug quantification in treated patients. Began optimizing a neutralizing antibody assay to determine presence of such antibodies in patient samples. Union Biometrica, Holliston, MA Biology Intern, May 2014 - August 2014 Analyzed and optimized flow cytometry and zebra fish imaging instruments. Evaluated new sampling component, generated suggestions and alternate design. Updated device manuals and maintained documents explaining maintenance scripts. Nova Biomedical, Waltham, MA Mechanical Engineering Intern, May 2013 - August 2013, January 2014 Investigated sensor performance in various glucose solutions after sensors were subjected to different stresses, analyzed data produced, and compared in long-term studies. Examined the insertion/retraction forces on needles of different size and geometry in synthetic tissue.
