Central Idaho Mountain Biking Association Meeting Minutes When: May 19, 2014 Where: Rupert’s Attendees: Michelle Reagan, John Link, Sidney Bingaman, Rich McCrystal, Carolyn Troutner, Heather Thiry, Gregg Lawley Next Meeting: June 23, 6pm, Rupert’s I Grants A. IMBA’s Small Grant Program deadline is May 30. Cliff Bar, Fox, and other companies offer small $500 grants. All have different focus points. B. Sid will contact Diane about it C. Too short of notice for CIMBA to take part II Payette Children’s Forest will be at the Little Ski Hill on July 12. Diane has volunteered. No one is sure of the aspect and bikes might not be involved. III Diane and Michelle have finished the bike purchase for kids. Bikes are ready to be transferred to the city to limit liability IV. Payette River Games in Cascade will take place June 20-22. Nonprofit organizations can have a free booth A. This is the same weekend as the Jug Mtn Race. Sid will contact someone to help set up at this race B. CIMBA will support the Payette River Games by mentioning it while participating in the Jug Mtn Race. C. XC race is slated for Saturday. Enduro race is on Sunday V. Ride Schedule. A. Dean supplied the schedule, Michelle will e-mail it out. B. Rides are dependent on trails being cleared. Bear Basin is cleared. C. Heather has an e-mail in to Justin regarding trail D. Rides are set for 6 pm on Tuesdays E. Saturday rides will be the 3rd Sat of the month. These will be longer and harder. H. There is a need to send out e-mail blasts before rides. CRM training may make this possible. Sid will ask Sally about training to blast e-mail. I Michelle will post as a printable schedule J Dean needs alternate leaders_ Rich, Dave and Sid have volunteered. VI. Sponsorship A. Brundage will be a platinum sponsor. Much thanks to Jared a. Rich will get in touch with Scott about meeting sponsors for lunch b. The board would like to see Brundage bring back their race, B. Gravity will be reupping as well. VII-TAL-IMBA proposal A. Heather and Michelle have discussed this proposal. Heather suggested using IMBA as a resource for the trail around the lake. Heather and Rich will look at IMBA proposal one Michelle sends it VIII. Michelle has done all the tax filings: State report and a 1099M IX. Michelle has completed binder. A. She will keep it B. It will hold waivers, etc, C. Heather suggested adding waiver to the membership. Sid will contact Sally to see if it can be done D. Paper copies of waivers need to be made available for ride leaders and trail days. E. Heather will send Michelle a copy of a trail waiver. X. Heather’s report A. Heather has no MOUs(memo of understanding) from the USFS B. Bear Basin is cleared C. Certified sawyers are effective. However, it is difficult to obtain the certification. D. Bear Basin Connector a. Kurt is expecting twins next week and can’t help. Mini ex timeline? b. Brush needs to be cleared. Trail can be fine-tuned later c. Another volunteer day will take some of the 300 hrs. d. late in the afternoon or early evening sometime next week. (29) e. Kurt has to buy all the material for the bridges. f. Article will be put in Star News E. Heather has picked up the trailer. Joe and Dave will come by on the 31st to put the tools in trailer. Rich will bring channel racks F. There will be and unofficial e-mail about trail day. G CIMBA will help JMR one day during the first weekend in June. This is scheduled for spring fling, May 31 XI. Sid will send out communications after her IMBA training. She will also help Michelle update information on the website. XII Finances A. Idaho Gives. Gregg though we received about $1,000. There will be a post of the money raised and thank yous sent. Sid will find out how to access these funds B. John presented a spreadsheet with the finances. Ther is $3000 outstanding that will go towards Bear Basin. Balance is $12307.15 XIII. Spring Fling. Heather has the flyers and will post. The trail day will start the day. Dave will BBQ meat and buns. BBQ will be set on the patio at JMR. Sid will see about getting gift cards from Pauls and Ridleys. Gregg will need to know about coolers. SWIMBA will get back to Heather regarding helping. Camping for Boise helpers may be available at JMR, Sid’s house, or Gregg’s.Diane will be in charge of lunch food for trail workers. Gregg will get a keg from SRB. Gregg and Sid will get together. Michelle will sent out a mass e-mail when Sid has the details worked out XIV. Dates for the Mtn Bike Festival are Sept. 27, and 28. It is possible that events may be added for the 26th. Gregg would like to add more demos. Michelle will contact Pivot, Trek XV. Meeting was adjourned.
