Purpose: This requisition is being opened to support a new confidential customer in the Austin facility. This position is for a production operations supervisor who will have shift responsibility for Final Assembly and Test Operations for this high-volume, low mix manufacturing project located in the Flextronics facility in Austin, Texas. Principle Accountabilities/Duties: This person will be responsible for directing manufacturing operations performed in a shift or group of production lines, ensuring the assembly and test operations reaches volume, quality and cost goals. This person will be responsible for both the daily output quality of these areas as well as the overall quality of the products produced, working with other shift supervisors to reach target goals for the entire work team. This person will maintain appropriate inventory levels and run the factory operations according to the production planning organization's requirements. This person will be responsible to create maintenance request and oversee an environment that will continuously improve in quality and cost metrics. This person will also be responsible to select and develop personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function. Job Requirements Minimum (MUST HAVE) Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 4+ years Supervision and leadership positions in a high volume manufacturing environment, responsible for shift supervisors and their teams - operators, inspectors, testers, and other direct labor. Ability to read and understand technical documents. Familiarity with complex electronics technology, assembly, and product testing equipment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing manufacturing status to high level customer executives, using standard manufacturing metrics and spreadsheets. To perform the major job responsibilities the use of the following tools may be required: Office Skills: telephones, word processing, spreadsheet (PC), presentation and database software. Desired (NICE-TO-HAVE) Minimum Qualifications: Ability to use Lean Methodologies / Kaizens to make improvements to manufacturing processes. Educational or work experience specifically in electronics technology.
