Understand lighting sources for photography Understand light metering Be able to use lighting sources for photography Understand photographic practice and health and safety procedures Unit 8 is designed to introduce and provide the learner with the knowledge and necessary skills to identify, describe and safely use a range of light sources and light modifiers in the production of a photographic image. Rationale and Assignment Leading on from in class workshops/lectures/presentations you will be given small tasks to achieve the outcomes for the final assessment criteria. Unit 8 tasks Task 1 produce a series of ‘light trails’. This can be done on location or in the studio Task 2 produce photographic images in the studio. Use a variety of modifiers along with both flash and continuous lighting sources. Task 3 produce a series of images on location using fill in flash. Task 4 produce a series of images where the subject is ‘light’.
